Tarpon Bay Seafood at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa is a dining experience that perfectly complements the resort’s luxurious ambiance. Visiting during December, the holiday spirit is in full effect, with festive decor lighting up the lobby and creating a magical atmosphere. The resort itself is a sight to behold, from the grand lobby to the serene pools and cascading waterfalls. It’s an experience worth exploring before settling in for dinner. Our meal began with three exquisite ceviche samples—Salmon, Shrimp, and Snapper—each offering fresh, vibrant flavors that set the tone for the evening. The Lobster Bisque was rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned, a standout starter. The Snapper Diablo delivered a delightful kick of spice, balancing its tender, flaky texture beautifully. The scallops, cooked to perfection, were another highlight, earning a special mention for their buttery flavor and melt-in-your-mouth quality. The restaurant’s ambiance was relaxed yet vibrant, ideal for a sophisticated yet comfortable dining experience. The air was filled with the enticing aroma of fresh seafood, and the attentive service added to the overall enjoyment. Tarpon Bay Seafood earns a solid 9/10 for its combination of incredible food, stunning atmosphere, and the perfect setting for a memorable evening. A must-visit for seafood lovers! *I came from Fox Cities of Wisconsin.

More like 3.5 stars. I ate here a couple of times as I was staying at the resort working a conference. The prices are high, but normal resort prices especially when you have a captive audience! The first night's dinner was good, if a little under salted (we ate outside and the salt was defiant to exit the shaker due to the high humidity but the view was lovely), but the scallops were good and the service was spectacular. We also enjoyed the free chocolates at the end of dinner. My second night's dinner left much to be desired. The lobster bisque was good but the Tarpon Thai was underwhelming despite the flavors promised in the menu description and the noodles were way overcooked. I ate the shrimp and left the rest. My dining companions didn't like their food either (Tuna Coco, potato gratin and creme corn and cauliflower). My recommendation? Stick with the Fresh Catch. We went offsite for dinner our last night there.

The prices are stupidly over priced for the quality. ($40+ steaks / $120 seafood platter / $14-$24 small glass of wine) I tried it 3 times over the past 2 years and each time I hated what I ordered and tried most of what my wife and friends ordered, who also were very unimpressed. My wife's friend said it was the worse, most tasteless steak she's ever had. (and it medium rare, not well-done which could be tasteless to some) We waited at least an hour after placing our order to get some food and it wasn't even busy! I like me some good seafood but the whole restaurant smells like they are cleaning fish, that alone made me want to leave but evertime I went it was because our friends wanted to try it. if you can sit in the back room the smell is not quite as bad. All that being said... super long wait times, super high prices, fish cleaning smell etc.. I could honestly get over all of that if the food was amazing. But I can honestly say I've tried most of what is on their menu and disliked almost everything. I could go on and on about the issues with each dish but I just hope you take my word for it. By the way, I'm not that picky with food and I rarely write a negative review unless it gets hopelessly bad. I also understand bad days, but I've tried most of their dishes as have my friends with similar verdicts. Oh and one more thing, this is the only restaurant I've ever been to that had nothing to choose from on the desert menu that looked appetizing. Just a few choices, no chocolate based choices except a chocolate cheesecake that was kind of sour tasting to me (but hey it's cheesecake) I tried a taste of what others got and was thankful I saved my money by...

My husband and I were staying at the resort for a conference and decided to try this on a whim. We were not disappointed! Nicole, our server was so friendly and took great care of us; she even made my reservation for my brunch the next day for me. I’m usually not one to care that much about atmosphere and only about the quality and taste of the food, but the atmosphere was great, very romantic at night and light and beachy during the day. The quality of the appetizers, entrees and dessert was amazing. Try the ceviche and key lime pie. Also, the lobster Mac and cheese was awesome, filled with giant pieces of lobster. You can’t go wrong with any fish on the menu. I came back for a second time by myself for brunch on Sunday. I was treated very well and given a great table on their patio by the water which I was not expecting, usually it’s the Bar or a table in the corner for solo diners. The brunch is OUT OF THIS WORLD and well worth the price tag with the Buffett of seafood and desserts along with an entree. If you are looking for a great romantic dinner place or a great brunch spot, definitely check...
