Taqueria El Paso — Restaurant in Boone

You’ve heard the Dos vs. Los argument a million times and it’s pointless because if you’ve eaten at all 3, you know Taqueria El Paso is the best Mexican restaurant in Boone. I was just in the middle of eating my takeout order and felt compelled by a higher power to leave a review. Every time I’ve eaten here the service has been exceptional and the food even more so. I can’t speak for every item on the menu as truthfully I order the al pastor tacos each time (when I find something I love at a restaurant I never order anything else). But their all taco fillings are so so good and the bites I’ve had of friends food while eating here have also been tasty. The fajitas are really good and there is a lot of food to bring home too! The enchiladas and burritos are also amazing. Honestly anything you get you can’t go wrong, the food is always flavorful and the staff is friendly and attentive. If I could leave 10 stars I would. My family always goes here to eat and we love it. We went here tonight and don’t have a good experience. The waitress was very rude and we were ignored almost the entire time we were here. Then when we got our food there was a piece of plastic in my plate and I then called the waitress over and asked to speak with a manager. She then stated that they were busy (keep in mind they were not) so I had to get up myself go to the kitchen window where the manager was standing. He proceeded to tell me it was not plastic just a piece of onion which it was not. It didn’t even break apart it had orange in it also like it came off raw meat. I asked for another and asked that it be taken off my bill as we had so much trouble. They did not want to give me another but they did. They tried to charge me for it and I refused to pay for it. Food was outstanding but service left much to be desired. No chip refills. Our waitress took our order then never came back till our food was ready 30 + minutes later. This was at 9 at night so they weren’t busy at all and I saw the wait staff sitting at a table talking and playing on their phones when we could have used a chip and salsa refill and more water. As I said before, the food was fabulous and came out piping hot, zero complaints there. After we received our food our waitress never came back to check on us until we were finished eating and only then did she ask if we needed more water.
