If you are vegan, you have to come here and order their veggie soup and falafel wrap. The soup is creamy, savory, with cooked spinach, corn, green pea, and carrot - all velvety and melt on your tongue. The wrap of the falafel is perfectly toasted and falafel are golden fried. All just the right portions of lettuce, tomato, and onion. Be careful with the hot sauce, it’s very hot even for me who eat hot pot often.
The restaurant is small but the temperature is just right for a hot summer day, ladies you don’t need to wear a jacket while eating inside. They have soft traditional music playing in the background. Very pleasant eating experience.
The chef is friendly, greets regular customers. Lastly, they have an angel from heaven named Aya working here. Aya is warm, friendly, super considerate, initiated help, very patient with my questions and on the phone. As a tired and hungry traveler who just landed in Boston Logan airport, this is truly heaven on earth to eat at- plenty non-vegan dishes to choose from too. 🙏🥰 thank you so much Tawakal Halal Café...

That’s a sampling of the food....the shaah tea is something that cannot be missed!! I like it with milk, on the lines of a chai, but soooo much better! There is homemade cheesecake if you have room also a standout and a Nutella banana chipati with icecream What makes this place even better than the food, is the incredible family that owns it! They make you feel like you’ve known them all your life They go out of their way to talk to everyone even when they are so busy We love our new tawakal family and are so blessed they have moved into our...
Read moreThis was my first time trying Somali foods, and it exceeded my expectations. This is a small place with only a few tables, but very friendly and helpful staff that recommended dishes to try out. Everything came out quick and very hot. We got the tawakal plate with beef, chapati wrap with chicken, sambusa, and shaah tea.
The Tawakal plate is made of cut up chapati pieces with beef in a spiced (but not spicy) tomato sauce. The chapati pieces almost felt like noodles since it was soaked in the sauce. The chunks of beef were really tender. This was my favorite dish that I tried during this meal.
Chapati wrap: lettuce and shredded chicken wrapped in a chapati. Also comes with fries and their own hot sauce.
Sambusa: lightly seasoned beef, similar to samosa, perfectly crispy on the outside.
The shaah tastes similar to chai, especially if milk is added. The spices were strong and it wasn't too sweet.
I would recommend this restaurant, and already looking forward to coming back to try out all the...
