Stopped for dinner during a stay on our way to Glacier. Service was slow, bar was smoky. Ordered a $44 ribeye to share, asked it to be medium rare. It came only with a baked potato and Texas toast which was likely frozen and got a 2nd potato and toast since we were sharing. Baked potato was good. Steak was absolutely raw. Since we split it and each cut into our pieces, there wasn’t much left to throw back on the grill. The waitress didn’t come back so we ate the potato and waited. When she finally did and I explained the steak was served raw (ie cold inside), I was told that I should have told her immediately so they could cook it longer. I said there wasn’t much left, it was all there but in small pieces, and I didn’t want to send it back to have them try to recook that. She said she’d speak to the cook. She returned and said they use a timer for their steaks and they prefer to serve them undercooked, instead of overcooked, so the customer could just tell them when it was wrong. I was so utterly gobsmacked by the number of issues in that explanation that, after a week at Yellowstone and a long drive, I did not have the energy argue. I was charged the full price for the steak but they didn’t charge me for the potato (which we DID eat). Keep driving.

Came here on a local friend’s recommendation after a disappointing steak at Ted’s and wow, what a difference. For $50, I had an incredible ribeye that completely blew my expectations out of the water. Juicy, flavorful, perfectly cooked. And the drinks? Very reasonably priced, especially for the quality. What really stood out is that the bartenders not only mix drinks but also cook the food and do their own dishes. As someone who’s was in the bartending industry for 15 years, I was genuinely impressed. Talk about hustle and talent. Service was friendly and welcoming, and we happened to be there during someone’s birthday celebration, so the owner generously treated us to a free drink with our steaks. That kind of hospitality sticks with you. This place is the definition of a solid hometown bar, laid-back, authentic, and full of character. And the fact that you’re getting some of the best steaks in Montana cooked right behind the bar? I’m all in. Already planning to make this a yearly stop whenever I’m back in Montana.

★★★★★ This place is a gem! The atmosphere is fantastic—perfect for a casual night out or a fun gathering with friends. The drinks are top-notch, with a great selection of cocktails, beers, and spirits. The food is just as impressive—everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had a great experience. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great bar with delicious food and a welcoming vibe! Can’t wait...
