Stopped in about 3 weeks ago. Cash only. No inside restroom Port a potty. Plenty of outside seating a lot in the shade but no high chairs, if you have a Toddler make sure you have a stroller or something for them to sit in. The fried shrimp was fresh and breaded nicely, and a decent portion size. The fried clams were fresh and good size. The coleslaw was the worst thing I've ever tasted. It should be called onionslaw. I love onions. I actually just eat an onion slice on bread with mayonnaise, But this tasted like who ever made it that day accidentally poured a whole bottle of onion powder in it accidentally. Everything we got was very fresh and delicious except for The lobster roll which of course was the most expensive on the menu! Unfortunately the lobster was definitely NOT fresh. The lobster roll itself was very large which made it even worse because it was just more unfresh lobster. I told my daughter to take it back because it was so expensive but she said that it wasn't like it was unedible it just wasn't very fresh. Tasted very fishy. In conclusion, fried shrimp and clams were fresh and good but don't waste your money on the...
Read moreAs a Cape Cod Native who grew up eating seafood shanty since the 90s as a kid, the food was decent but I was underwhelmed. The fish was very fresh, but the batter lacked overall flavor. I always order extra tartar and extra lemon. I was shocked to hear they don’t offer fresh lemons, but lemon juice in a packet which is not even comparable. It tasted like lemonade on the fish, without the fresh tangy kick that a lemon gives. Outside of cape cod this would be acceptable, but I feel that here, in a seasonal town that’s know for its fresh seafood, the toppings should be the same. It absolutely should be served with fresh squeezable lemons. I looked to the tartar sauce for that zing, but for my taste, it was entirely too sweet.
The customer behind us ordered a clam plate and sat down 10 mins after us. She took two bites and proceeded to throw the entire plate in the trash and leave.
The pros were fast service, fresh food, and shaded picnic tables. The price was very reasonable, but I have to say I would gladly pay prices comparable to the mid to outer cape to get fresh lemons, more fish and fries, and onion...
Read moreAlways a great stop after a weekend visit to the Cape. The food is always delicious. Too delicious. Now, it has become so popular that traffic in and out and the order line are often tremendously long and difficult. The only suggestion I would make as an avid fan of true New England seafare is...go back to making chowder traditionally. Don't offer it as a clam soup and claim it's to comply with gluten-free allergy customers. Be creative but honest. Waiting for hungry customers to order it, then tell them it's just "milk-based because it's the only thing on the menu that's gluten-free" is ridiculous. Save that nonsense for a roadside stand in the Midwest where true chowder fans may not every visit. Chowder is chowder because it has flour in it creating the roux which thickens the broth. Without flour, it's cream of clam soup. For lobster fans, the Lobster roll is fantastic, full of lobster and...
