Panera Bread — Restaurant in Braintree

I had a very unique experience at that Panera location. I was about to pick up my lunch and waited patiently in front of the pick up counter, located at the kitchen. My order contained only plain bagels and two drinks. It took a while to prepare my order but during lunch time, it can be busy of course. After a while, I saw my order sitting on the "ready for pick up" counter. My idea was to grab my already online paid order and leave the restaurant like I would always do here and in other Panera locations. This time, the manager of this particular location was close by and noticed me taking my order like every other customer would do. Suddenly he approached me from the side and yelled at me, why I would touch my order. It was a very weird and disturbing situation, since he came very close and pumped himself up right next to me only a couple inches away. It seemed like he lost it for a second completely, since the whole store must have heard him.  He explained in his own unique way, that because of Covid I am not allowed to touch MY ORDER before HE TOUCHED it to hand it out to me . The manager of this location thought it is a good idea to explain the COVID RULES a COUPLE INCHES away from my face .   I understand, we are all uncomfortable and stressed during this pandemic. I originally went in for a bagel but they were completely out of them. so i got mac and cheese with a baguette on the side and upon eating the bread there was a massive black hair cooked into the bread. So i called and asked to speak to the manager and the girl on the phone told me that i needed a receipt and the ACTUAL manager would refund me (I thought she was the manager at first because on the automated directory thing on the phone it said Press 5 To Speak To a Manager). Well i didn't take my receipt and also didn't eat my mac and cheese due to the loss of appetite so i think my whole order should be refunded and not just the $2 piece of bread since i didn't even eat any of it? Girls at my work used to order from them all the time but recently they've been getting almost every order wrong and their refund policy is atrocious. Will not order...

Everything is fresh & made to order(which I love) Recently remodeled and not a fan. The reason being is that it’s no longer, the private, cozy, intimate setting. The barriers would go up half way or all the way to ceiling and it created a private experience. Now it’s all one height. The area around the fireplace just looks….different? Out of place? This Panera seemed to have lost its privacy that was soo appealing & needed to get ready for the day or at end of day. But regardless, I will always come here. Staff is amazing & food incredible. I got (& have included pictures of) the Turkey & cheese-modified to accommodate my taste/likes-fresh summer fruit cup & fountain Mt Dew as well as the agave Lemonade.
