We came here for our first time with our daughter and another couple. It was clear they were in the weeds from the moment we got there but we were patient. We got seated after about 20 minutes and about 5 minutes later a girl comes over to apologize and tell us they were under staffed and a waitress would be with us momentarily, which we understood. Fast forward another 10 minutes, waitress comes around for our drink order and we were ready to order our food also. My friend orders the chicken bacon ranch pizza and is informed they are out of bacon which seems odd for a pizza place but she ordered the BBQ chicken (sans bacon) instead. My husband ordered the Hawaiian and asks them to remove the onions and banana peppers. My daughter and I ordered the chicken Alfredo, my daughter's favorite food. We wait almost 40 minutes (the place isn't packed, 6-7 total table occupied) for our food and my husband gets brought a Hawaiian pizza with no pineapple (forgot to tell us they were out???) and the banana peppers and onions are still there. My daughter ate two bites of her Alfredo and pushed it away, mine was like eating glue so I ate a few bites. It came to our table barely room temperature. A bunch of pasta with barely any sauce and a bunch of bagged chicken that is way too peppery and overpowering. Couldn't get a refill on drinks to save our lives. Probably one of the worst dine in experiences ive had in a long time, but at least my husband's pizza was comped after having to tell the waitress that the pizza he got was not the pizza he ordered. Charged $35 for no refills on $3.25 drinks and disgusting pasta. Had to stand at the counter to pay my bill almost 10 minutes because there was no way I was trying to flag down our waitress again. I felt like I was in "jail" being held hostage but couldn't find anyone to let me out. Lucky im an honest person and it makes me wonder how many people walked out without paying yesterday due to being ignored.
We drove over an hour away to eat here and were extremely disappointed in the service and quality of food. Will definitely never come back. Cute concept but the food was terrible, I wouldn't feed that Alfredo to my dog which is why I didn't take two full bowls...
Read moreWe arrived at Jailhouse Pizza at about 5:30 PM on a Friday evening and were seated immediately. The dining room was about half full. After about 10 minutes, the hostess came to apologize that there was a mix-up regarding which server was supposed to handle our table. After another 5 minutes, a server finally took our order. In the meantime, another family of 4 had already been seated next to us and had their order taken. We ordered two pizzas and a salad. The salad was ordered without onions, and one of the two pizzas (mine) - a small deluxe – was ordered without olives.
The salad arrived reasonably quickly – with onions. It was eaten anyway.
At about 6:25 – almost an hour after we had arrived – the server showed up with two pizzas, and apologized that another server had taken the pizza I had ordered without olives, so she brought me another deluxe – with olives – offering to allow me to keep it while she ordered another like my original order. I don’t like olives, and removing them from a pizza with so many toppings does not work. I told her to take the wrong pizza back and skip the replacement, noting that I’d already waited an hour.
I skipped my dinner while the other two members of my party finished their pizza.
In the meantime, the family of four who had been seated after us had been served and eaten their dinner and left.
When she delivered the check, our server noted that she did not charge me for my pizza – seemingly as if I should appreciate that gesture.
As I was leaving, I asked to see the manager. When he asked what the problem was, it was apparent that he was not aware of the problem. His only reaction? “I’m sorry, man…”
I think that the manager should have been informed of the problem when it happened, and visited us at our table. He should have asked what could be done to make it right.
Net: it took nearly an hour to get our food, two orders were screwed up (the salad and the misplaced pizza), and management’s response was totally lacking.
We will not eat here again, and will share our experience...

Jailhouse Pizza in Brandenburg, KY is absolutely worth checking out...once...for the atmosphere. Located in a historic jailhouse with breathtaking views of the Ohio River, it’s a fun, quirky spot with loads of character. Whether you’re dining inside the old cells or sitting outside taking in the scenery, it’s definitely an experience.
But when it comes to the food? That’s where things fall short.
We ordered a pepperoni pizza and garlic knots, and while they looked good, the taste was a letdown. From the dough to the sauce and toppings, everything came across as medium quality at best—honestly, it reminded us more of a Red Baron frozen pizza than something fresh from a pizzeria. My wife asked for cheese sauce for the garlic knots, but they said they don't serve cheese sauce, only offered garlic butter and marinara.
The service was also lacking, We waited nearly 10 minutes to even be acknowledged after walking in, while staff passed by repeatedly. It’s clear they stay busy, but the customer service didn’t reflect much care or urgency.
Bottom line: If you're coming here, it's for the unique décor and river view, not the food. If you’re craving a better pizza, head up the road to Little Caesars—it’s nothing fancy, but the flavor is far better for the price. Now if you want a true quality pizza, head to PARLOR PIZZA in Lousiville.
A fun stop once for the experience, but not a place we’d return to...
