We've been comming here the last 3 or 4 yrs and if u look at my other account I gave it 5 stars and one of the best dinners we've eaten at . But we went last week and as soon as I held the door for my ol lady , the Greek looking who always greeted us ,wasn't there the vibe instantly was different, and I told my girl right away something changed and I felt it. And as making it to my age after being on a bad path for yrs and during that time I've learned to listen to my conscious bc it's NEVER wrong. Plus I wasn't feeling my best , so my girl order a open faced roast beef over mashed potatoes basic very simple. And if it was the previous cook, that was cooking the food everything would have been piping hot ,fresh cooked perfectly and the plate would look like Damm this looks good , but what she got was shiny steak that had those 3 rainbow colors like old meat gets. It was dry with a gravy that looked like the texture of jello ,my girl said the mashed potatoes came out the box ,instant type. .Gross I told her don't eat none of it. Bc u will b sick 🤮 so I already knew. It was gonna b bad. I ordered a soup bc I didn't feel to well. And I figured u can't really mess up chicken or zoo so it comes and I look at it. It looked like the chef took a big spoonful of all the Italian spices or herbs floating on top. So I said maybe it's just how they do it. So I take a spoonful and all I tasted was oregano and salt. They literally added it to the bowl b4 it came out. It's not like on a huge pot on the stove on low. So I asked the waitress who was very kind and I asked did the owner Leave. And is thier a new cook back thier bc this was horrible and I showed her both ,and she couldn't believe that's what was sent out ur the 3 rd person in the last 2 days. And she said the owner left and took his chef with him. So all we had to pay for was the soup. It's just. Sad bc it was one of the top 3 dinners we ever ate at. Now. I wouldn't go back. Unless it was to get something out the dessert case. But Def not to eat just as bad if not worst then the dinner in Devon in...

Read moreDoing a reset so I get to be lazy today. There’s a diner across the street from the truck stop(which only has Popeyes and Starbucks) so I decided to walk across for a good breakfast well it turned out to be an awesome breakfast with a few surprises. Surprise #1 they have grits on the menu. Surprise #2 they’re not instant grits they’re the real thing(cooked in a pot not the microwave). Of course some of you may ask why those two things are surprising well the answer is simple I’m in Connecticut where just finding grits on the menu is rare and then to find that they actually know how to cook them without using instant grits is even rarer. The fluffiest french toast I’ve ever had topped with Nutella was amazing. The eggs were cooked perfectly to my liking as was the bacon, the sausage and ham were delicious. Service and atmosphere were on point. I really can’t say enough nice things about this place. They were somewhat busy but the food was still delivered in a timely manner and still hot. If you’re ever in Branford, CT I truly recommend this place you will not be...
