STAY AWAY. DO NOT GO THERE if you don't want your day ruined. The chicken is good, but the service makes it taste awful.
To all of you, poor souls, who were driving through CT, stopped at this service plaza, and got this extremely poor customer service, please accept my apology on behalf of all of CT. Please know that we are not like this here. This is Popeyes problem, not a CT problem. In fact, I hate writing this bad review, but you all deserve be warned. It's that bad.
I visited that location today. I placed my order online (terrible system; I was never asked to enter my name and I never received confirmation that the order had been successfully placed, but I saw the transaction as Pending on my Venmo account so I assumed it went through).
When I went to pick it up, a woman simply said "classic order" and I figured it would be me, so I asked for the order # (since I peeked at their screen and saw my order there with the order #). The woman didn't give me the order #, but looked at me like I just offended her mortally, and told me "what's your name." I gave her my name, but my name is foreign, so I suspect she wasn't able to connect the pronunciation with the spelling. She then said/barked, extremely annoyed and kind of ready to scream at me, "Show me your name on your phone."
Well, how? I never got an order confirmation from the online ordering system, and that system never asked me for my name (I guess my name came through on the Venmo payment and that's how they had it). At that point, another woman came in, clearly sensing that the other employee was being extremely rude and inappropriate, and kind of let her know she was going to take it over from there. I explained that I don't have a "name on my phone" (whatever that means) because I wasn't asked for my name when placing the order, but I saw my name printed on one of the bags sitting on the counter, and I told her it was my name. I showed her the order on my phone so she could verify me. I was ready to show her my ID, but that much nicer and quite embarrassed woman gave me my order. At that point everyone at that plaza was staring and watching the exchange, making me feel very uncomfortable, so I walked out with my order immediately kind of wondering to myself "What just happened?" I feel it's important to add that everyone else who was waiting for their order looked like scorned children in the principle's office. I suspect they got a very similar treatment to the one I was getting.
When I got home I discovered a portion of my order was missing (chicken wrap I paid extra for). I just gave up at that point. I'm done. No more visiting that location. It's not worth ruining my day over. There are so many nicer fast food establishments in the area.
So again, if you're driving through CT (and somehow read this whole sad review to the end), please don't go to this Popeyes. I know they're much nicer in Louisiana, but don't be fooled. This is an exceptionally...
Read more(Around 3pm on Sat March 1, 2025) The woman behind the counter with a heavy accent is not very customer friendly. I ordered my lunch with a gentleman. He apparently misheard my order if 2 bacon and cheese sandwiches but instead gave me the regular chicken sandwiches. When I walked back into the location, the gentleman was back on the fry line and the woman was back to work at the counter. I informed her of the situation and she looks up my order. Immediately starts arguing that my order was not the bacon and cheese sandwich but instead my order was for 2 regular chicken sandwiches. I told her I asked for 2 bacon and cheese sandwiches and 1 order of regular fries. She starts telling me that I need to order using the numbers listed next to the sandwiches and not tell the person what kind of sandwich. 🤦🏻♂️ Then she proceeds to put cheese and bacon in a container meant for the sides. I asked what she was doing. She told me she would sell me the cheese and bacon separately because I did not pay for it. 🤦🏻♂️ Eventually she took my regular sandwiches into the back and put the bacon and cheese on my now cold sandwiches. Her attitude was atrocious. Other customers were present and muttering to me that this is how service is at this location all the time. That's disturbing that management does not address their workforce. I had no issue with the guy that took my order but she needs to go to mopping floors or something where she has no contact...
Read moreToday (03/12/23) I was at this restaurant and it was my second visit as I was driving down the RT I-95 and I was happy to see the Popeye restaurant on my way. When I pulled over I recognized that place since I was there last year too. And I don’t remember it by good reason. Last year whatever I ordered (to take out) was cold and dry and it felt like it was cooked day before. So, today I decided to give them a second chance. I was wrong. The girl who worked there was not friendly person at all. She didn’t even listen so she gave me only one sandwich (I ordered two). When the other guy got in he assisted me, and she made another sandwich. Btw, I ordered two classic sandwiches, large fries and nuggets. Both sandwiches were chewy and greasy and half cold and the fries were old, chewy and disgusting. Only one thing that was okay were the nuggets. After today’s visit I promised myself that I will NEVER EVER eat at this place. I visit Popeyes all the time and I know how their food tastes. I’m surprised that this place is still in business. When you leave $30 for food you wanna fresh and tasty food - not just some leftover from...
