I was very excited when this location opened. As a big fan of the Braselton one, what better treat than to have one open up within a mile of my house.
That went downhill very quickly though. And as of today I will no longer bother visiting this location.
We have tried going multiple times at what you would think would be "prime time" for ice cream. You know, mid day on a weekend in 80+ degree weather. Even worse is that we even check their hours online first and they are STILL closed every time despite their listed hours showing them open.
Closed twice when we attempted to visit in the above time frame. Time before that, they were out of the ice cream flavor I wanted (extremely common flavor found at all ice cream shops, nothing strange or rare)
And then today, wild idea to "let's go grab some ice cream". We got an get dressed, drive on over through the lovely Hoschton rush hour traffic (a whole other complaint) and sure enough, out of my flavor. Left empty handed and irritated at wasting my time yet again (accumulative to all the times we drove over just to find them closed)
Not sure how this place plans to stay in business, it is not looking good for that. In a very difficult food industry you need to have what your customers want, and be open when customers desire your products, not when you feel like showing up.
Either way, the past is the past, good luck to you Juke. I for one will not return to your shop.
(P.S. The gentleman working there each time we go and they are actually open, has been nothing but kind, do not let me review reflect on his...
Read moreIt was our first time visiting Juke N Jive Creamery. I'm upset that we waited so long to stop in. The place is charming, giving throwback vibes to a 50's ice cream counter. My wife and I chatted with the owner and they make all their ice cream and desserts. They have 3 locations in Hoschton, Braselton and Cumming. It's family owned and it was evident they love what they do and it's certainly reflected in their ice cream.
Their ice cream is made with natural flavors and has no artificial colors. My wife and I each chose 2 scoops we shared spoonfuls of each. I can say the the scoops were not only generous, but the ice cream was rich, velvety and bursting with deliciousness. We chose raspberry vanilla, coffee and Bailey's, caramel crunch and my absolute new favorite butterscotch and bourbon. My wife chose a cup, while I opted for a waffle cone bowl. The waffle bowl was crispy and delicious and didn't get soggy from the melted ice cream.
We made short work of the desserts and will be back for more, regularly. The other places we go for ice cream may fade into distant memory. I'm anxious to try their shakes, malts, various flavors, and desserts such as cobblers, bread pudding, sundaes and floats.
Hope to...
Read moreMe and my sister walked in on a cold, windy and rainy day. As soon as we walked in through the doors the atmosphere was so warm and inviting. First of all, the smell, I don't know what it is, it's almost like fresh baked vanilla cones or something, it fills the whole store. The moment you open the door, it comes rushing through. We walked in and not only was the decor, the booths, and the little details about the place looked so cool, but the gal behind the counter looked adorable in a little hat. The hat is a cool little addition to the uniform, I really like that part. I also love the colors about this place, the checkered floor and the pink ceilings, turquoise booths. Let's get to the food finally, I give this place 5 stars. The two milkshakes we got were 16 dollars, it may not be affordable for bigger groups or families, but by no means were they disappointing. It may be on the higher side, but if you want McDonald's prices for a milkshake then by all means go to McDonald's. You're not going to get the same environment at a McDonald's, the extra money is worth it for the vibes of this place. When we went, the place was dead. I hope this...
