La Fresa — Restaurant in Brawley

As many years that I've been going to La fresa I've hadn't had a problem, but yes sometimes they can be a little slow but they try to get your order out quick. But after today my review and star has turned into a 2 stars instead of 5. Me and a friend had placed an order online to pick up and when we got there we told them we were there to pick up an order but instead of attending to us they closed the door and locked it. When they said our orders would be ready by 7:40 we showed up before our time and waited till 8:30 outside but no one came out and when we called they had turned the phones off. I called to get my money back but nothing and I called customer service and they said I would have to wait until tomorrow. But they saw us and even let another person in but wouldn't answer the door to us. I didn't pay but my friend payed with her card so they took her money and waisted our night waiting a whole hour outside with kids. After ordering my drinks, we moved to the side for them to get prepared. However, that wasn’t the case. The employee continued to take several orders after me. The employee also went ahead and made all of the other drinks & food before even starting my order. Then to top it off, one of the other customers who came and ordered after me, who was served before me, ordered additional drinks at the pickup side. The employee went ahead and made the additional drinks, and when she was placing the money into the cash register, she took another customers order. Then she made that customers drink before mine. After they finally made my order, it was sub-par, and it took about 20 minutes, and we were late to school. I decided to call to speak to a manager, and the same employee answered the phone. She said the manager wasn’t there, so I asked when they would be available? She said, I don’t know because he doesn’t really have a regular schedule, so I said can I at least get a name? I don’t know the girl’s name, but she had a cute little face, pretty hair, and braces, the most nicest person. She took her time to explain the menu to us, because we didn’t know what half the things were. And even though the entire staff was cleaning up to close up, they still served us. They were just really nice people. We got the elote in a cup 10/10, tostitos with elote in a bag 10/10, and this mango ice cream in a cup with tajin, spicy mango bits(kinda like spicy fruit rollup), and this spicy candy straw 9/10(it was just too sweet for my preference). And the prices are very very fair. I would definitely go back again. For my muslim friends, not everything is halal friendly, just make sure to ask what ingredients are in each item since they do use pig skin in one of the items(i forget the name), but nonetheless you can almost have everything...
