Iāve been playing trivia at Blarney Stone on Mondays a couple of times a month for several months. Our group of four players orders drinks and usually food. Three of the players get their order in a timely manner. However, I am ALWAYS unable to get decent service from the server. Last Monday, I ordered a ginger ale and waited about 25 minutes for it. Actually, it was never brought. I finally walked up to the bar to order it myself. The server happened to be nearby and asked me ādo you need something?ā Yes, I needed the drink I ordered from you 25 minutes ago!! (Thought but not said out loud). I told her ginger ale, and she showed no recognition that I had ordered it almost a half an hour earlier. The other team members were brought their drinks quickly. One person was brought their second drink while I was still waiting for mine.
I also ordered soup and it did not come at all. After waiting more than 40 minutes, we learned that the soup was delivered to a different table. The server did not apologize to me. EVERY time Iām there, she (Mattie or Maddie?) ignores me while attending to the other members of my group; it is puzzling and aggravating to us. I always wait much longer for my drink and food, sometimes having to ask for it twice. Often she has passed me by without taking my order, seeing me sitting there with nothing. A couple of times she took an order from one of the others, then left quickly, ignoring me. Also, it has become a running ājokeā that I have asked for lemon with my drink many times, and not once has she brought it, while one of my trivia partners always has the lemon and lime in his drink that he requested.
The discrepancy in service is extremely obvious and aggravating. There is no reason for the repeated poor service I have dealt with. I order politely (when I can finally get her attention) and I always tip.
I called the manager, Jenna, to explain this problem, and she told me she would talk to the owner and that I would receive a call from her. I am hoping for a resolution to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stopped In after a long day and sat at the bar for a couple of beers and ordered food to go. I believe Kelly was our bartender, she was outstanding. We had our first beer then put our to go order in while enjoying our second beer. Our food was out in 5 minutes after ordering. We barely touched our beers. I noticed immediately that it wasnāt everything we ordered by the size of the bag, so did the bartender. She took care of it immediately. It took about 15 minutes for the tomato bread to come out, which is an expected time. Our medium rare burgers were what was out in five minutes. However, when we got home and plated everything (we live 5 minutes down the street and left as soon as the tomato bread came out) we were extremely disappointed before even biting in. I have worked in the service industry for 30 years in every position in a restaurant. Our burgers were supposed to be medium rare and they were extra well done. The big Texas burger was missing the beer cheese and onion straws so it was just meat on a bun. The jalapeno burger was missing cheese and herb mayo. The tater tots were extra well done, which cannot happen in five minutes. Which tells me this order was already pre-cooked (probably older mistakes) and they threw it back on the grill and fryer and then served it to us half ass. The tomato bread had the thinnest sliced tomatoes Iāve ever seen on any food item and no garlic or any seasoning for that matter. I know burgers cook while sitting therefore thatās why we ordered them medium rare so by the time we got home, they would be medium at most, not extra well done! The brisket was burnt/charred also. It was like eating a brick. I have enjoyed the food at Blarney for many years now but will be hesitant to go back unless it is to sit at the bar to enjoy their phenomenal beer selection! The burgers are extremely high in price compared to other local establishments, therefore I do expect much...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe came to Oak Forest to play in a baseball tournament and had a group of 35 who just showed up at the Blarney Stone. They didn't hesitate at all and were able to quickly seat us in their rear party room!!! The room was perfect, especially with many of our kids between the ages of 3 to 17, we didn't disturb the rest of the patrons. Not only was the room perfect, but the service, drinks, and food were outstanding as well. When the kid's started getting a little restless waiting for the adults to finish enjoying themselves, the great staff set up cornhole outside on their spacious patio which helped entertain the kids so the parents could enjoy the remainder of their evening!! That was on night one!!! The next night, Saturday, we were looking for a place to eat. Being a busy night several places looked at us like we were crazy for trying to get in their establishment, so I called the Blarney Stone and asked if it would be possible to get in there again. Without hesitation they said to head their way, they would have the room ready for us! When we arrived they had the room set up with pitchers of soda, lemonade and water ready for us!!! Once again the service and food was outstanding. The kids had a cornhole tournament on the patio that even gained the attention of other patrons for the exciting finals!!! We travel quite a bit for tournaments, but our experience at the Blarney Stone was head and shoulders above anywhere else we've been!!! Thank you to everyone at the Blarney Stone and if you're looking for a great place for a large group or just a night out with friends this is the...
