We’ve gone to Nathan’s off and on for years and enjoyed it. The cashier lady was so extremely RUDE this time. Older white lady. I will never come back here. It was horrible. SMH. I was waiting for 30 mins, and they just kept serving more and more of their regulars I guess (calling each other pet names like sweetheart or nicknames….) instead of me. It was a nightmare. It was so gross. Like these people coming up to the counter putting in orders while I waited for ours. Watching them come and go… Ironically my family has worked in BBQ for over 50 years. I had an order that most BBQ places could fill in 2-10 mins. They literally told me they were going to serve others before me and I waited 30 mins and figured out they didn’t even touch my order… it makes you think like why waste OUR time…. Really bad. Anywhere I’ve been it’s a simple order. If they couldn’t fulfill it they should have said something. They seemed oddly stingy around the meats cutting them really slowly and thin…. I was quiet but watching them (… for the 30 mins they made me wait….) the cashier was so ugly to me but then sugary sweet to other people, it was a bunch of people too… filled all their orders but not mine bc it was “too big”…. it was toxic and it was weird. We left and called up another local restaurant we know well. Picked up what we needed, no issues. Honestly this was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I never leave negative even four star reviews but this was awful. And I’ve been going here off and on a long time. Yall need to fix it…. Fix your messed up attitude. Not just bad customer service, disrespectful to your own customers!!! I remained calm and got the heck out of there. Either way, you’ve lost our business. Not up for a 2.0 of whatever that was. At all. I was even getting nervous I wouldn’t get a fair price. That’s when I bailed. Went somewhere else, tipped VERY WELL, no issues. My point is- don’t mess with people!!!!! Let alone your own customers… awful. Like if you had of just told me the order would be late because you were backed up and it might take 30-60 mins that’s fine. But not only did you NOT communicate anything like that, you were rude to me and didn’t even fulfill parts of my order in half an hour!! Or apologize. A better plan is to quickly apologize and sell the customer at least a portion of what you could deliver. Goodness. I don’t like harsh criticism without being constructive but this was so bad. Do better. At least don’t...
Read moreThis is quite possibly the worst barbeque in the state of Texas. I have lived in many different states including this one, and I have absolutly no idea what went wrong with this bbq! At first hearing from the locals that "oh this place has amazing bbq!" and " you need to eat there you can smell the bbq from a mile away!" ect.. well ill tell you this much its horriable and i would never tell any of my relatives or friends at that matter to ever eat there! First, their food was like a monkey cooked it at low heat for 3 days hoping it would cook. Basicly it was kinda warm, but you could taste cold spots in the meat and the side dishes that my family and I chose. Secondly, the customer service was worse than the wal☼mart thats down the road from this 'resturant' or self calling one atleast. Thirdly, even not eating but maybe a bit of our food, they would not even try to refund us our money ( which by the way was 64.29$ for four people, you can eat at rudy's bbg in college station for four people and its litteraly 51.67$ so you do the math and tell me which was better in my honest opinion!) they just kept saying "well we dont have any managers working at this time, but, we can give you more food... if you would like maybe it would be better for you to enjoy." which at the time we declined because who wants to try the food a second time for crapy food that you didnt like a first time. Now lastly, if you are driving down the road and you smell the bbq from your windows being up thats probably going to be some dank bbq, for the most part. In this case you couldn't even smell the bbq untill you were inside the building and hovering over the food. Plus the fact you could hardly taste it. It was cold, had no flavor, was hard, it was really chewy, and made my son sick after eating it. So if i could rate half a star, i would but one is all it will let me do. SADLY. So if seaching for real authentic bbq i do not recomend this business what so ever. Like i said in the beginning of this review WORST BBQ IN TEXAS. But on a good note the drinks are good, and the chicken was bearable. So the travlers with a hankering for BBQ i suggest going thirty to twenty minutes away to College Station, TX, and eating at Rudy's the is auctually great. Thank you for reading and I truly hope this helps you make your mind up for a BBQ run haha. HAPPY...
Read moreAfter many years of stopping at this establishment for barbeque and being a barbeque enthusiast, we were disappointed in the food today. I ordered my usual "burnt ends" like I have many times before. I was first introduced to this item at Nathan's several years back. The burnt ends are carved off the brisket and taken to be heated and sauced and presented back to you on your plate. The food looked good, but when I sat down to cut it and eat, I found the beef to be almost entirely fat. I normally don't complain or send food back, but I did bring the plate back to the cashier to complain regarding the lack of actual meat. She turned to show several employees in a lackluster acknowledgement that it was in fact all fat. I requested more burnt ends with meat as I was very disappointed with the first plate. As I sat down and began cutting into the new burnt ends, I noticed that this serving was worse than the first. I again took my plate to the same cashier, and noted looks of disapprovement as I returned my second plate of (beef) fat. By this time, everyone in my party was finished eating, and when they tried to offer some to go, having struck out the first two times, I did not wish to press my luck. I know if Nathan himself had been there, he would have made sure to rectify the situation. I question whether Nathan has sold this establishment as the quality from past experiences was not there. The place was clean, but the food failed to hold true to its prior standard. Sorry Nathan, but if you did not in fact sell out, I would much rather wait in the long line for Truth than eat what is currently...
