I would like to be nicer to this place... but it needs some work.
Looks a bit rough on the outside but the inside is beautiful... definitely a comfortable place to enjoy a meal.
The staff is friendly enough... seemed a bit understaffed tonight, but my greeter, who also waited my table, was polite and attentive.
There was an odd gap in the meat selection. Price points were $35 (8oz filet, 16 oz T-Bone, 16oz Ribeye) or $17 (8oz Sirloin). There was no middle ground, and nothing offered when I asked. A $25 10-12oz Ribeye would be a nice addition to the menu.
Same thing with the drinks. There's $3.75 domestic beers, or $15-18 mixed drinks... was a bit shocked when the beer-a-rita I ordered ($7-10 other places) came in at a whopping $16.
But the most important part, and what really tanks this review, was the steak. Simply put, it was a poor piece of meat. Seasoned well, cooked to perfection... but every bite was filled with gristle... I left half the steak on my plate, some of it chewed up inside a napkin.
While I was not dramatic about it, it was pretty obvious I was struggling to finish my meal, and my server seemed to choose the very moment I was struggling not to choke on my current bite to ask me how my meal was.
I did get an word in edgewise at the end, but did not want to short the restaurant or wait staff for poor meat quality... but the server did not seem surprised with my comments on the gristly meat.
Can't say I'll ever return to this...
Read moreI would give 0 stars if I could. I’m currently visiting from out of state. Me and my girlfriend decided to have seafood and found this place on goggle review to have a high star rating, so we decided to try it out. The menus are apparently very outdated because we was both going to get the Beerita and there was three different prices. We did not notice this because we was going by her menu which said $8.99. We was informed that it was 10.99 no matter what the menus said and the only reason we even knew that it was going to be $10.99 was because we asked what would the price on the drink be since it was happy hour. Again we asked ok well what is the price since it was happy hour. The waitress had a horrible attitude and repeated herself 10.99. We got up and went to leave and asked for a manager. This is when we explained to the manager about the pricing on the menus and mentioned he may want to make sure the staff is courteous if they want to continue service. I don’t know about you but when I go out to eat I want to be treated kindly when I’m paying to go out to eat with family...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to have dinner here while traveling through for the night and we regretted the whole experience. We were not greeted by the two employees at the podium to start off. We sat down and were never addressed, not a hello, no drink order, absolutely nothing. There were three other parties there: a single guy, and two families so not busy at all. We decided to ask the bartender on duty if she could send someone to our table and she offered to take our dinner and drink order. We ended up having our dinner at the bar thanks to the bartender, but the food was 5/10 , we had crawfish and some crab rangoon which were cold. Wish we'd gone to fast food instead.
I couldn’t figure out how to respond to the owner, I do have the correct location, in Brenham next to the Suoer 8, I will not remove my review. This was our experience at this location on a Saturday night, it literally left us with a bad taste in our...
