This review is to help anyone planning a first trip to Arrington. We had a party of 8 and were taking group transportation to the winery. Due to the short period of time we would have at the winery, I wanted to pre-order picnic meals, so I did via a phone conversation where I explained how and when we would be at the winery. No problems with placing the order. Problem 1 - Several weeks before our trip, I realized our timing may be too odd for a full meal (between lunch and dinner) and inquired about cancelling the food order. No cancellations allowed and your order is pre-paid. I understand this is their policy and it is their policy to make. It’s important for others to understand though which is why I am sharing it here. Problem 2 - We get to the winery a little after 4 pm and I go to pick up the food. They do not deliver advanced ordered meals until around 6:30 I was told at the pickup counter. Our bus was leaving at 5:30 so this is obviously a problem and would have been important information to discuss at the time of ordering. They hurried and got our meals delivered at 5:20 and we went straight to the bus after that. By the time we got back to our hotel in downtown Nashville where we could eat, the food was cold. However, the food did taste good. So here’s the important info to remember: do not place an advance food order unless you plan to be at the winery at 6:30 or soon thereafter. There is snack type food available for purchase at the winery and I recommend you do that if you’re going to eat while there. When the opportunity presented itself, I thought it would be great to support their quaint operation and have them cater a business meeting. Days prior to the event and before delivery, the gentlemen who took the order, charged my AMEX corporate card in full without providing a receipt. I used caterers all the time, and had not previously had this occur, especially without a contract in place - normally business allow 24-48 hours to modify the count in the event of attrition or cancellation. Read moreWe order from Simply Living often and their food is fantastic. We just ordered some things for the holiday, of course the sweet potato casserole, which is to die for. This time we also got one of their bone in country hams and it was without a doubt the best country ham I ever had. Delicious flavor, tender and falling off the bone.
