I never write reviews but couldn't help but have to this time. Our famly has always went to this restaurant over the years. The Hibachi that is cooked in front of you is usually good. The food on the bar is usually good. This visit on 7/26/19 was a horrible experience all around. The chicken on the Hibachi was nearly burnt and not edible. Tried it a second time and same results. The sesame chicken on the bar was a hit and miss. Some of the chicken was chewable and the rest not. We had put the chicken that couldn't even be chewed on a plate to be taken away. The lady that was taking care of our table was extremely rude. She asked if there was something wrong with the chicken. I said it isn't chewable and too hard. Then she went into a speech about how you can't waste and need to eat what you get from the bar. She said to tell her if something is bad. I told her I'm not a complainer and wasn't going to tell about things that weren't good every single time. It was absolutely ridiculous because it's a buffet and have never had that experience anywhere else. Our group definitely paid enough for the buffet to cover the cost of the inedible chicken we didn't eat. This was one of our favorite places but after that rude experience we will go elsewhere. Just like others have said previously in the reviews they don't care if you enjoy it or not they just want you to eat the food and clean your plate whether it's good or not according to that lady who waited on us. It got so out of hand that one of the people in our group asked her if she would like us to leave and not come back. She claims she has told other people the same thing but all the years we have went there we have never had anyone act that way or say a word. According to her she is also one of the...
Read moreWhat happened here?? I've been coming here for nearly 20 years since they 1st opened, and my experience on July 18th was just disappointing. "Grand Buffet" is a bit of a misnomer considering the price and what was actually available. I went with my family around 6 P.M., 2 hours before they closed, and was very surprised by the poor food and lack of selection. 2 of the buffet tables were completely shut down. The food that was available consisted of 1 table with spicy pork, spicy chicken, and spicy beef, sesame chicken, rice, and some seafood. One other table had a few regular American fare items like pizza, fried chicken, rolls, etc., one had a few tired looking salad items but no lettuce, and the last was a dessert table with a handful of choices. The sushi bar was open but already being shut down for the day. The little bit of food that was out was mostly picked over and had clearly been there a long time, and was dried out and was not being replinished. 2 people in our party ordered off the menu and what arrived was clearly leftovers. What food we did get was not good, and there were only 3-4 other tables of customers in the entire place. Most other customers got one serving and then promptly left. Even most of the lights were turned off, the only exception being the main dining room. Several of the staff were hanging out in the back dining rooms, lounging and playing on their phones or watching tv, and one employee was mopping the floor around us nearly the entire time as we ate. The upside is the place was very clean, well staffed, if not overstaffed, and the service was good. But it was not worth the $16, and given my experience this time and the past couple of visits I will be surprised if they stay open...
Read moreFirst time here and while I'm pretty confident the food is at least a 4 star early on in the day, we won't be returning for the dinner buffet.
The restaurant closes at 8 - we arrived at 7. Everything on the buffet, while hot, had been sitting for quite some time - even the sweet buns with hard (they're usually soft like doughnuts). Bit into an egg roll and it was so hard it was inedible.
I don't give a lot of bad reviews. But I'm hoping this will encourage management to step up their game in the evenings. The waitstaff were great. Very friendly and efficient at keeping water filled and plates cleared. So kudos 👏 to them.
The kicker was when I went over by the hibachi grill area just to see what was on the menu (it was my first time there - I was curious) and the cook at the first station just glared at me and rudely and emphatically said, "we're closed!" It was 7:40. The restaurant's posted hours say 8pm is closing time.
So I propose one of two solutions, Stay open until 8pm as the diner who pays $16 for the buffet deserves the entire buffet up until 8pm Offer a discounted buffet price after 7pm and let diners know the grill closes at 7:30.
So, I would probably give this another chance but it will be at 11am when they open to ensure food is fresh OR order to go as they should be cooking an order...
