2 days after the governor allowed indoor dining at 25%, and Sunday of Labor Day Weekend, we called to make reservations. While on hold the recording tells us we can put our name on the wait list, but no reservations at this time. When the hostess finally picked up the phone to tell us to keep waiting (for the 3rd time 22 minutes later) I yelled NO, please just put my name on the waitlist... she nicely told us they aren't doing that today because of the long wait. We had noting better to do this evening so we went over anyway. We expected an hour wait, but it was closer to 40 minutes, not to bad for a holiday weekend. There were 3 of us and we had a wide variety of food. Started with the Lobster Rolls. They were full of meat and very tasty. The Mahi Mahi tacos were next. Exceptional! The side mayo sauce was spicy, exactly how I liked it. A half dozen ice cold large oysters. They were very good. The Cocktail sauce was plain and could have been more original with some extra spice, but they were very good. Also had an order of PEI mussels in the spicy marinara sauce. The were just the right amount and very tasty. A 1/2 dozen hot wings was the perfect compliment to the shellfish smorgasbord. Now the suprise was when we were searching for a dinner spot, my daughter just wanted California Rolls and sushi. We were pleasantly suprised to find a huge variety of sushi! They too were perfectly made. This was my fist visit to the River Rock Restaurant and won't be my last. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the Marina and the bay. They had live music on the otherside which was played thru the speakers throughout the restaurant. We were very happy with our meals a d will definitely return in the future.

Stopped in last week on probably the hottest Monday of the summer so far. It was my first time back since the renovations. I came by boat. Being a jersey shore local for over 30 years this was the first time I drove my boat to River Rock. My party and I were immediately greeted by the Dock Hand, John. John waived me in with ease, and with his assistance I was able to dock my boat like a pro. Upon going inside we were able to get bar seats and were greeted by two bartenders both of which were attentive to us and quite humorous. I do not recall their names but the male was probably about 6'5" and bald and the woman was short with blonde hair. We enjoyed some ice cold beverages, ate some $10 special pizza pies, and had some laughs. I remember being nervous about getting my boat out of the docking area upon leaving as it was my first time doing this at River Rock. The Dock Hand John was still working and I told him that I am somewhat new to the dock and dine experience. John aided me and gave great instructions on the best way to get out of the docking area and even helped me get out by using a technique with the boat lines. John really helped make this process a breeze and my party and I were on our way with no issues at all and the best part about it was John was extremely kind and professional about the whole thing on a very hot day which I'm sure made the job that much more difficult. John is an outstanding employee and should be commended. Be sure to keep him there as long as you can, River Rock!

I don't like posting negative reviews unless I'm really against a place due to service, food or overall experience... now this place was not awful in the sense that it warrants a negative review but the food was really rough, the margaritas were pure sugar, the service was non existent. My husband and I decided to order a few appetizers to sample for $3 happy hour, after it took 15 mins to get our first drink. The view is great and they were taking preparing boxes of donations for Ukraine, which was respectable but that's where it ends. It's a place more social, to have a lot of cheap drinks and hang out than it is to have solid food and quality drinks. We opted not to eat or drink there after we sampled the wings and nachos. Most likely would not return unless a band was playing live and we were sticking to bottled beers, that's about the only way to appreciate the space.

Definitely a mixed review. Went this past Saturday night (party of 7). First time for all. Atmosphere is great, has a good vibe. SERVICE we had, did NOT match. 1st - We were dropped off at a soaking wet table/chairs (just rained, outside seating is under awning). Also one chair short. Before we could breath - hostess was GONE. Had to dry our own table and scavenge for a chair, and some dry chairs. Server we had seemed to have better things to do and maybe should consider a different job? We had to kindly remind to clear table everytime refills were brought, or plates needed clearing. Promises were made but never came back (this happened often). Missing plates, wrong orders, etc. Time it takes to get orders is also long. By the time my missing salad was brought, everyone else was done with theirs. 3 people ordered the dish served in a pineapple. Some were cold, one had scallops which was ordered without. (coconut rice does not taste like coconut - nor does the shrimp app.) 1 ordered fish n chips - (2 strips included) 1st one was great, 2nd was just the fried shell lol. Told server, they did nothing? 1 app was completely forgotten about so that was taken off 👍. Drinks were very weak so be careful what kind you order if you want to get $ worth. (Sushi not that great either but we are a bit biased bc Office Lounge has the BEST!) Now for good - my salmon dish was good and the pizza was yummy! We ordered a Margherita pie and Chick, bacon ranch pie....seemed to be the only winners of the night. Entertainment is great, a little bit of everything. Bands early on and DJ for some dancing later. Definitely a mixed crowd from young to older. Just our experience, consider...

My family and I had the worst experience at River Rock Restaurant & Marina Bar on 2/23/24. Since we were the only color people on a Friday night; we were targeted. Here's the night: A group of 5 all in our 30's. We were stopped once we arrived to check for ID's. 1st red flag, the security guard! He took my ID and start to bend my real ID DL, turning it back and forth to see if it was "real". I said do you have to bend it in that manor? He smirks and continue to bend the DL. 2nd red flag, we sit down and order some food and 2 drinks at the table. The waitress then ask for ID again... my brother didn't have his ID on him but showed his ID on his phone, she said no that won't work. He said that's fine, just one drink at the table. She came back with a bucket that was too much for my sister so she shared the drink with me. The waitress came back and said "If you're going to drink that, I need to see your ID. No problem ma'am; here's my ID. 3rd red flag, 11:52PM, the manager came over to the table and said "since he doesn't have his ID with him tonight, he can't stay here after 12am. I said no worries, bring us the check. We pay for the check in cash and the manager didn't come back with the change however, he kept circling the restaurant to make sure that we leave at 12am. He came back at 12am and asked us to leave, I said, "okay where is the change"? He said, "your not leaving the waitress a tip"? I said, yes but we will determine the tip not you! We were definitely targeted and highly suggest if you're of any type of color stay away from this...
