This place is an absolute hidden gem of a restaurant. Some of the best home cooked food I have ever eaten. Walking up to the place, I had my doubts. I was a pick up order, so I can’t speak a whole lot about service and atmosphere, but it looked like enough seating for 12-15 tables, small mom/pop diner, kind of vibe where there is a good chance that everyone in there knew everyone in one way or another. There is a drive-thru if you don’t want to walk in to collect your order. The place looked clean like your grandmas house would be clean. Somewhat organized chaos, but all looked clean and wouldn’t be scared to sit down and enjoy a meal in-house. Ordered the chicken fried steak, as it is usually my litmus of country cooking restaurants…. Not sure what they do different to their breading, but damn!! Also had seafood gumbo with rice. Rice is another thing I am a big critic of. If it looks like boiled in a bag garbage, I usually won’t be back. The rice here had good texture and flavor, went very well with the gumbo. Cornbread and corn nuggets were delicious. Sort of a sweet flavor to both, very enjoyable. Collard greens had good texture, just needed a tiny bit of salt. Green beans were good, hamburger steak had some damn fine flavor to it as well. Potato salad isn’t my jam, but you could tell it was home made. Will definitely be going back and letting my people know about this place. So happy to have found y’all!!! Also, I didn’t try any desserts this trip, but looking forward to sampling some of them on...
Read moreI don't usually give reviews but definitely think this is a good time to do so. My daughter ate here a couple of weeks ago with her volleyball team and said it was good. So finally tonight my boyfriend and I decided to try it. I have never been this pleased with a meal as I am right now. I ordered the meatloaf w/ Tom based sauce, rice and gravy and green beans with cornbread, I can honestly say everything on my plate was delicious and we picked up and it was even the perfect temperature when we got home. I will definitely be going back here can't wait to see how dining in is. I'm just mad I can't finish my plate cause it's so good but it's just a little too much. Also very affordable, $30 for 2 adults not bad at all. Probably will be able to make an entire second meal. It takes a lot to impress me with food, but I am highly impressed and excited we found a good place to eat in BC and it's affordable. Thank you Leslies Place for giving us an amazing dinner tonight and putting up with a team of 16,17 year old girl's, there entire team was talking about how good everything was. That's even more impressive in my eyes to be able to please a whole team of...
Read morewe ate here for the first time tonight, and it was beyond delightful. Wonderful waitress, named megan (magen?? Maegen?? Not sure how its spelt)) tho she says she's referred to as little megan there. Met the owner and she was wonderful as well. I had the seafood omelette-- was honestly nervous about getting it, but it was a good call. MASSIVE thing, stuffed full of shrimp and crab meat (REAL crab too, not the imitation which was a very pleasant surprise), mushrooms, onion, topped with white queso. Ive never had a better omelette in my life. Fries Catfish was stunning too. Unrelated to the food, but i really like the color of the walls, a lovely purple. It reminded me of ube. Anyway, we'll certainly be coming back again when we can, i highly recommend...
