Visit 7/18/2016 just after 7PM. Absolutely terrible service. So disappointing. Went there tonight and waited 10-15 minutes for drinks, 10-15 more minutes to place an order. When food came 15 minutes later it was delivered by the manager. Waitress nowhere to be found for nearly half an hour - we were stranded at our table. We then asked for a second round of drinks since 30 minutes had passed without our waitress visiting the table. Manager seemed surprised but acknowledged the order and left us ...with no drinks during dinner. Once dinner was well finished - you guessed it, waitress appears with drinks. Politely declined and asked for check. Waitress was rude or cold, hard to say which. She passed us several times with empty glasses at end of bar table. Walked right by. Bummer. Sitting near the bar, we could see that she didn't put in our drink order until we were done with dinner. A draft beer and a Sprite. Not so complicated but would have been really appreciated while eating dinner. Final disappointment was having to get up and go to bar area and ask the manager to get me my check. Otherwise we'd still be there, stranded at our table waiting for someone to bring the check and end this disaster of a night at Emma's.
Food is inexpensive and tastes accordingly, edible down market fare, but the real issue is extremely poor service. Been there twice in last month, won't be back. Our last visit two weeks ago featured half the food being delivered and the rest coming after dinner was finished. Disappointing because at that visit the waiter was very energetic and tried hard. Kitchen let him down. Ironically we only chose Emma's because we thought it would be inexpensive, straightforward, and quick - but turns out it was very slow and very frustrating. You don't want to put up with frustration and attitude at this kind of restaurant, similar to Domino's or Pizza Hut or Red Lobster. Employees at those restaurants are far better trained and managed.
Restaurant is very poorly run and not particularly clean, table was dirty when we sat down and there is food all over the floor. Obviously the problem is very poor management. Makes you wonder how clean the kitchen is when the front end is so poorly run. Actually - I'd rather not think about it. I'm sure the people preparing the food and cleaning the kitchen are no more attentive than the people serving it. Ouch.
At the end of the visit the waitress apologized several times, but the manager said nothing and honestly the waitress seemed insincere.
I did pay the bill and I did leave her a tip. 12%. At least walking out there was just one problem, terrible service by Emma's, rather than bad service plus a bad customer.
Took me less time to write this review than get a Sprite from the manager and servers at Emma's....
Read moreLast night was my 1st time ordering and eating food from Emma's in Bridgewater. As I placed my order I asked specifically if the kids pasta meal still comes with an order of fries and drink (as the menu clearly says all kids meals come with fries and drink), the person taking my order says yes, and asks what's to drink and I asked what kind of juices they had not soda, she says, lemonade, x soda x soda x soda, 🙄🤔, I said I guess it's just lemonade then. I order my salad with Cesar salad. Get a time and a total. I pick it up and the lady who took my order happens to ask me if I'm picking up, tell her yes, my name.. and she tells one of the bartender (I assume) behind the bar, "ring her out" turns to me and said " tell her your name and she'll check you out" well I stepped up closer to the counter to tell (bartender) my name, and she completely ignores me for about a min and then an employee walked by and they talked off and on for a min while she was in her till. The woman who took my order has now brought my food over and I hadn't even been aknowledged by the bartender till about 45 seconds after this. 🤷🏾♀️😔. Paid for our food and left. Got to our hotel and opened our order up, No Fries, no utensils. 🤔🤔🤨. I called them to inform them, and the manager happened to be the lady who took my order and also gave me my order. 🙄🙄. Her reply was that she thought I was talking about the drink not the fries and her comment for the reason of no utensils was that most people go home after ordering so that's why it was not put in the bag, and that the customer has to request utensils in order to get them. I was offered to come back to get the fries and utensils but I declined. I can't with places that operate with an assumption that everyone goes home after ordering so they can use their own once their home. Well some people aren't going home and some like to nibble while they're driving and would need such utensils. You should always Put the utensils in an order. Now if your menu states fries and drinks comes with all kids meals there should not be an excuse or question as to not putting it in the bag with it's meal. Y'all have got to do better, it's the...
Read moreWe rarely order from Emma’s but decided to give it a try for take out. We called and a very friendly man took our order (meatballs and ziti and chicken parm dinner). I even commented after finishing the call that he was so pleasant and it was great customer service. We picked up the order and when we arrived home we noticed that the meatballs were missing. Called the restaurant and spoke to Amy. She looked up our order and read it back (marinara sauce on ziti and chicken parm). When we told her the order was either taken wrong or entered wrong, she responded with “that’s what you were charged for”. My husband reiterated that the order was not what we ordered and asked for a comp. She denied the request and repeated that we were only charged for ziti. We explained that it wasn’t about getting over charged but we didnt get what we ordered and her employee made an error. Her response was “I’m sorry but you weren’t charged so I’m not going to do that.” She then stated she would give us free meatballs the next time we were in. It left us feeling less than satisfied or valued as a customer— it’s less about the meatballs and more about how dismissive she was as well as taking no accountability for her employees error. Likely we won’t be visiting Emma’s again. You can keep...
