Chandlery at the Shore — Restaurant in Brisbane

If there is ever a place to host going away happy hours for VP-level biotech execs, then Chandlery at the Shore is the place to do it. They might as well have written the book on it. I hosted a going away happy hour here for my VP. He was pleased as it was just as he had asked - low-key, yet classy. The thirty guests were pleased since it had what they were promised - a wide array of expertly crafted American fare and drinks to please even the most challenging palate. I was pleased as it was exactly how I'd imagined it - a large open space for all of us to reminisce about the good times at work, to share in the memories of current and past coworkers, and to garner final thoughts on surviving biotech from someone who'd done it all. A group of us that work around SSF get together and bounce to different restaurants around the office campus’. There are some decent ones and a couple gems that we love to go to regularly. We decided to try a new one called the Chandlery, which is a little further out. It is by far, with no exaggeration, the worst one we’ve been to. Slowest service, rude bartender, oblivious manager. No one cares here. This was surprising as I’ve never been met with this bad of a service around here and it wasn’t busy. We ended up just taking our food to go. While the girl delivered us our food she rolled her eyes as if we were the problem. I can see why this place was pretty much empty when we got here. Definitely try their Happy Hour frm 3pm-6pm on Wednesdays & Thursdays only. I like going here after work for their happy hour to catch up with my sister bestie as she works around there. It's quite, serence and very relaxing by the Brisbane Marina. Plus a nice break if you are looking for a quiet me time away for yourself to relax. Patio area is nice & cozy to chill & enjoy the sun with a beautiful waterfront view. Food is good with american flare of sliders, chicken wings, flat breads, good selection of drinks, mocktails & beers definitely recommended.
