Not typical of me to write a review of any sort, especially a negative one towards a small business. Todays experience was no doubt one of the worst experiences ive ever had from any business in or near the Shenango Valley.
I called Hilltop Pizza at 3:45 PM to order 3 pies for a 5:00 PM pickup. I wasnt until I had just pulled into the parking lot to pick them up at 4:55 PM when they called my phone to let me know that their dough did not rise correctly and that they would have to push back the pickup to 6:00 PM. I was understanding at first knowing that this is their first time ever rising pizza dough…🙄
So instead of driving from Masury all the way back to the other side of Hermitage, I decided to just wait.
6:00 PM rolls around so I go to walk inside to pickup my pies, and the door is locked. As everybody stared at me trying to foolishly open a locked door, i continued back to my vehicle to wait. At 6:15 PM I recieved a phone call from them stating that they finally were able to get the dough to rise correctly and that my pies would be ready for pickup in about 40 minutes.
With having to start my work shift at 7:00 PM, and with 3 hungry kids and wife at home, I declined.
2 hours wasted along with approximatly 3 gallons of diesel fuel, and 5 hungry patrons later… I will never support this business again.
Communication in a timely manor goes a very long way. Not 5 minutes before your pickup time either because quite frankly, not everyone lives nextdoor to the shop. I like 10 miles away across Sharon and Hermitage. I firmly believe that they jumped then gun on reopening, as it was nothing less than a burden to not only me but im sure multiple...
Read moreOrdered 4 pizzas for delivery. Because they were making a new batch of dough, we were told it would be delivered in 1 1/2 hours (by 6:30). At 20 to 7 we called and found that the delivery person had car trouble and it would be at least another 45 minutes. We told them we would pick it up instead as it had not yet left the store. We got to the store and found that they had sent it out with the delivery person. They got her back and then tried to charge us $2 more than they had said it would cost. And the delivery person and the person behind the counter were very rude. Finally got it home. We had ordered one w/mushrooms, 2 w/mushrooms & sausage, and 1 with sausage & pepperoni. All 4 were burnt but some edible (according to one of our guests). Instead of 1 with sausage & pepperoni however, we got 1 plain w/burnt cheese on top and I mean the cheese was actually black (this one went in the garbage). 1 mushrooms & sausage had 2 1/2 to 3 inches of dough all around the outside w/sauce, cheese and toppings in a small circle in the center. Our considered opinion is that they should have called when they couldn't deliver timely. And the employees had no excuse for being rude. All in all it was the biggest waste of $50 we have ever had the misfortune of spending. Lousy pizza, lousy service. Wish we could give...
