We went to eat at at ElMaguey last night. We had been there several times between Jan and March and it was always a great experience. Last night, the service was just as bad as when we went in April. I called at 5 and said we had a party of 10 arriving about 530 and asked if they were really busy. Girl said they were not. Our friends arrived about 10 min before us and got the table. There was no one waiting and 1 or 2 empty booths. Took about 10 mins for our guy to get our drink order and another 10 to get drinks. 2 servers standing around doing nothing. Waited another 15 mins then asked a girl if she could get our server to take our order. My daughter was coming back from the bathroom and saw the girl turn around and roll her eyes. She took our order, then we watched at least FOUR other tables that came in AFTER us get their food. We were there for almost an hour. I paid for 2 bowls of caso and our drinks, tipped the server, and we left. As we were leaving, the fam of 4 at the table next to us who came in after us had finished their food and were leaving. They told us we made a good decision and didnt waste our money because the food was lousy. We will not...

I have eaten here maybe 6 times now. I have eaten almost all Mexican food in a 3 hour distance. I have had food in Mexico, and on a cruise. I had the food in Metter ga, and in the Boro. I love a restaurant in Charleston. I would recommend the fish tacos which are packed and loaded with fish. The salsa...different flavor..I think its basil. Its so yummy. Empanadas..chicken is something else. Its an appetiser served with a salad inside I guess. Its worth every penny. You can get so many authentic taste and really enjoy your food. No need for alcha alcha alcha hol..... I think its that good to say.....do it again your kitchen staff is awesome. . Your servers...on it. I say . Well , to the owner I don't know...you did good. To my neighbor that said try it. Thank you!! I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to eat something that's very seasoned and authentic. A plus for me. Keep your cooks happy and your servers. I think you got them ice cream when I...

I really had high hopes for this place however my expectations were not met. I have another restaurant which is my basis of comparison but that place covers all bases with food, service, quality, price and atmosphere. First, the service. I ordered a table side guacamole but it never came out however the salsa was good and so was the cheese dip. Ordering the food was quick and seamless along with the drinks. The quality of food however was a different story, the carne asada as dry and extremely tough. The chicken enchiladas tasted like shrimp as well as the sweet tea. The positive note was having to pay, it can be done with scanning a QR code on the receipt. Will I give this place another try? Only time will tell but for the time being I’ll be seeking...

I went to the spot for lunch and ordered the taco lunch special. I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t have a variety. It was either all chicken or ground beef. I couldn’t get grilled chicken or it was extra and I couldn’t get grilled steak , it was extra. I asked for raw onions and got grilled. I had to ask for two corn tortillas for each taco because they only came with one. I usually get my Mexican food from South Carolina when I work there but I wanted to try this place. It was ok but South Carolina has me spoiled. They know what Mexican street tacos are there and it’s always how I like it. I’ll come back to this place because it’s close to where and it was good.

This place is amazing! I went for the first time with my dad, brother and daughter. We had about a 10 minute wait but it was so worth it! I got the tacos al pastor which were the best I've had in a while as well as a peach margarita which was my personal favorite. They had fun little high chairs that matched the decor and the atmosphere and employees were all very pleasant. You can definitely feel the love that was put into this place and it not only shows in the people but also the food. 10/10 would definitely recommend. If you haven't been yet, go. You'll be glad you did.
