A friend and I have been here several times. Our original plan was to dine-in, but that quickly changed when the dining area felt like a sauna! When we asked the server about the heat ( yes, we are experiencing unusual heat right now) she explained that they couldn’t lower the thermostat because it would cause the kitchen to cool down too much. SO, I guess they prefer the customers to suffer. My SUGGESTION to the OWNER is to install a separate air conditioner in the DINING area. My friend and I decided we would get our meals to go. I had ordered a chopped pork plate and a fried shrimp plate. She ordered a chopped pork plate. We were in that sauna for at least 30 minutes possibly more, waiting for our order. There were no other customers dining inside. When we got it back to our home, the pork plate was delicious, however, the fried shrimp was tough, and the hush puppies were nearly burned. My potato salad, as my side was very good. I don’t mean this in a malicious way, but truly the owner needs to see about the air conditioning in that building. And check that the cook knows how to...
Read moreThis is by far the worst barbecue place I’ve ever eaten at. The food was undercooked and tasted horrible. I did not eat the chicken because it had blood on the inside of it and a stale appearance. The ribs were not fresh and tasted as if they had been sitting for days. The beef brisket was undercooked as well. I was traveling there for work and since it was located directly across the street from the hotel that I was stay at during my visit, I decided to try them out. I also read the reviews but from the experience, the reviews appear to be inaccurate. I’m from Atlanta, where we have more than several barbecue requests and they are all delicious. However, this one I will never ever eat at. The next time I’m there for work, I will drive to Savannah because I’m sure there is another city that may have better food. It is really hard to find a restaurant in Statesboro that serves good fresh food. The hotel food was delicious and really made up for the horrible dinner that I purchased and ended up tossing in the trash...
Read moreI will never go back to this restaurant again and I used to frequent it at least once a week…today I ordered the $20 Uncle Shug’s Sampler and when I received it there was only 2 little tiny rib bones with hardly any meat on them. I called and spoke to Amanda Baker who was a real witch and told me she was sorry but they only put two ribs on each plate and that was the last two ribs on the end she had to give me so I got two ribs. I told her I had ordered this platter plenty of times and it always had one slab with at least 4 bones in it. This is when she really went nuts and rudely wanted to know who was giving me 4 ribs like I would know who was in the back fixing my plate. I tried to call Statesboro to speak to the owner Stacy but no one would even answer so I can just say he has lost my business at all of his establishments and if he reads this he needs to get his help in check because they are running off customers. Nobody speaks rudely to me and me come back…I can spend my...
