Honey's Cakes — Restaurant in Brookville

My wife and I were traveling from Cleveland Ohio to head towards Beacon New York, ended up stopping in this wonderful small town to take a break from driving. While eating at a local restaurant called the courthouse I checked out other things to do nearby on maps and came across a little spot called honey’s cakes. Obviously seeing the pictures posted I absolutely needed to stop in and try a peanut butter brownie! I ended up meeting Honey (Owner) herself and she was a delight to meet and needless to say the treats looked and smelled amazing. We ended up getting an orange cookie, peanut butter brownie, cheesecake brownie, and a Oreo cupcake. The orange cookie was absolutely delightful, it was a very fresh and not overly sweet cookie which is nice. The brownies taste insanely fresh made with high quality ingredients, the first thing I noticed was the cocoa taste within bringing to light in my mind how these are hand made brownies. Needless to say there was so many other treats I wanted to try but was not capable of getting and eating before they went bad. This was my first time visiting Honey’s Cakes, and I was not disappointed! Honey was kind enough to show me all of the treats and options she had, and was extremely pleasant to talk to. I wanted to get a few different things to try, and they were amazing. The chocolate chip cookie was very tasty, and big too! I also loved the macaroons and was very pleasantly surprised with how light and fresh they tasted! I am also looking forward to trying the pumpkin spice bread (which looks delicious). Honey was kind and easy to talk to as well which makes a world of a difference when deciding what bakeries to give your business to. Honey made us the most beautiful and delicious custom cake! We chose German chocolate and vanilla with buttercream icing, and it was absolute perfection. The design was stunning, and the flavor was even better. It was rich, moist, and full of flavor. Everyone at our event was raving about it and asking where we got the cake. Honey was also absolutely wonderful to work with. Her communication was great, and she made the whole process so easy and enjoyable.
