I've been a loyal customer for years. Their food nourishes my soul. They don't mess around --- it's all about getting you good quality food quickly and efficiently.
Order for one? Fifteen minutes. Order for four? Fifteen minutes. Order for two family reunions simultaneously? Fifteen minutes.
And the food is awesome. But don't take my advice, just grab some and prove it to yourself.
You will be sad to see your fortune cookie because it means you finished your meal. But here's the good news, they have plenty of menu options to keep you coming back.
My family lives in Clarion and they make special trips to come to China Wok, sometimes they choose China Wok over visiting with me if they're pressed for time.
I have college friends from Pittsburgh who will come to visit me just so they can eat China Wok. If I recommend any other restaurant, they actually get upset with me.
Kids grow up in Brookville, eat at China Wok, and get immediately sad when they realize that the rest of the Chinese establishments in other towns in cities aren't as good as what they had growing up. This place is the gold standard.
Come here for a meal, go to Buff's for desert, and then hit up Ehrma's for beer. You will have the best day ever.
If you keep reading the rest of these reviews, you're going to see some people complaining about the service. Look, I get it. Some people want to come to a restaurant and be pampered or whatever. You know what I want? A great meal that tastes awesome where the prices haven't really changed since 2011. These people do miracles in the kitchen to provide you with an awesome product that our community should cherish.
The service is interested in one thing --- feeding you and your loved ones at a reasonable cost. They're not going to spend fifteen minutes with you at your table. They take your order, come back to you in a time limit that is literally unfathomable, and then provide you with your dish and your bill. They're not there to impress you with the corny rituals of American dining, they're there to impress you...
Read moreMy first initial impression when I walked in the lobby is not very clean. As I further walked into the diner, I went to grab a menu to look and see what they had. I was immediately meet by the manager or owner, and felt rushed that I needed to hurry an order, I clearly stated I haven’t been here before and I would like to look at the menu and then asked to use the restroom. She then ask why which is really crazy I’m a truck driver an I needed to wash my hands. I was then seated and later I look at the menu. At least I tried to in peace and the woman just kept coming over rushing. What do you want to order? What do you want to order you need to order she says OK fine let me get the crab and cream cheese Rangoon which had no crab just cream cheese and chives. Now I’m ready to order so I got the orange chicken a chicken fried rice as for I don’t eat pork at all an that was a 2.50 up charge I ate my food and I was sitting their just resting again she rushed over with the check an turned the lights out In the lobby so again I felt rushed at this point I’m a little uneasy about this place they have a sign that says credit card machine down an as I was opening my wallet she trying to look an says you pay with cash an I moved away from her an stated that I only have card surprisingly the credit card machine was working as I paid for with the credit card. She was very rude. This place is not trucker friendly and as I left, she stated that I cannot please everybody that she’s not God I will never come here again this place gets one star because there’s no option...
Read moreMy first time there: I got 3 items that I always got when it was China Wok. They all tasted different. Crab Rangoons have half the filling they used to and they tasted strongly of cooking oil. I asked for no green peppers in my one meal. Guess what, there were green peppers in it. Very little chicken in the lo mein. Pork fried rice was lacking in vegetables and meat and it was also dry. The woman running the front counter was beyond rude.
Dinner, 2 weeks later. We got 5 dishes. They were all pretty good. I asked for no peppers and this time I got no peppers. Hey, I love green peppers, but they don't love me. Fried rice was not as dry as on the last visit. I asked for pork fried rice instead of white with one of the dishes I ordered. If I am paying extra for PRF, I want to see some pork in it, along with onion and carrots! Please stop being so stingy with the meat and veggies in the rice!
Same rude lady was there, but a different girl took care of me at the register. I saw the rude lady when I got there first, she walked right by, didn't even acknowledge my existence and had that same miserable scowl on her face.
Dinner, a few nights ago. Rude lady is still taking care of the front. Grumpy as ever. Got the Coconut Chicken. It was terrible. There was no flavor, the sauce was like water and the breading was really soft, not crispy at all. Fried rice tasted different from the few nights...
