El Presidente — Restaurant in Brownsboro

Went here for breakfast this morning. Ordered the chorizo and eggs. My white boy cooking has way more flavor. Breakfast included run of the mill rice and beans and the chorizo and eggs was nothing special. Entree was $11 which is fine and I ordered a soda which is $3 again fine but this is where it went off the rails. My friend ordered extra tortillas and since I ordered the same entree I guess they gave me extra tortillas too. To top it off I asked for chips and salsa. So, at 11:00 am chips and salsa are free but at 10:00 they are $4.13. In addition the extra tortillas were $3.10. No one warned me they will nickel and dime us unlike any other rex Mex place I frequent. The extra charges ended up in my ticket so this super mediocre breakfast cost me $27 including tip. An excellent breakfast with great ingredients shouldn't be $27 much less run of the mill Tex Mex. Definitely not going...

I joined my neighbors there for dinner three adults and two children,(mine). Everyone paid there own food and was charged %18 service charge for 6 or more people. Plus a 3.5% credit card fee. 21% fee total for dinner. If that wasn’t bad enough, I made a remark that I should have just sat at a different table, the waitress said maybe you should have with a very snidely manner. So apparently it’s better to tie up three tables to wait on, clean up, and occupy so other customers can’t sit than three parties to sit at one table. Here the biggest kicker to all this. My wife and I had fajitas for two with water, the bill was over $50. We had fajitas the night before for two and two orders of rolled tacos for the kids and we paid $27, and the food was way better. I love this restaurant for breakfast. Make sure you get the hash browns and ask for them to be crispy. I know, "just hash browns, big deal", right? WRONG! I don't know what they do to make them so tasty but they truly are amazing. Their regular TexMex lunch and dinners are well, regular. Won't kill you. Won't make you write your momma. No surprises. Etible. Prices are reasonable. I would not drive another 10 miles into Athens or in the other direction, to Chandler, to get similar Mexican food. Stop, sit down and order. In the time it will take you to drive somewhere else to get the same meal, you could be eating a hot, no surprises, but tasty meal and their servers are...
