A&W — Restaurant in Brownstown Charter Township

This was the A&W my family would stop at after a trip to the metro park growing up so I'm probably biased but this little place here is always a treat to stop at. I love the classic Americana vibe to it, It takes me back to my childhood everytime. I usually order the #2 double bacon cheeseburger and it's always superb better than the other fast food chains. The fries have been very fresh everytime I've gone which is always a pleasure. And the root beer speaks for itself finest you can get outside of a homemade mom and pop stand. The staff here have always been nice and quick with the service and I appreciate the efforts they go to accommodate the customer. I ordered 3 cheese burgers and a milkshake. ALL 3 burgers were not even lukewarm, cheese was just on it, not even melted a little. The only thing that was worth anything was the shake.

There were 3 what appeared to be young adults who didn’t even notice me outside attempting to open the service door because all 3 were on their phones

I spoke w/ the manager today regarding the burgers I received yesterday. There was an apology & an offer to return the money I spent. I told the manager that I’d rather have the burgers over again some other day.

I believe that with certain chains comes a level of expectations, with that said, Id like to thank the staff at this A&W for living up to their reputation. I love A&W, as a kid I remember riding home from my baseball game making a beeline to grab a quart of cold rootbeer to wash down the dirt from the sand lot. I remember my dad taking the whole family on a summer night, only to find myself taking my own family many years later. This night my wife and I were out with no place to go as we decided to have a chili dog and pulled in. The first thing I noticed how clean well kept everything was, service was great, food was good and hot as always. This store is an asset to the A&W name....
