I have an honest review for any peering eyes. I have lived in brownstown for going on 7 years. I've lived in Jackson County itself nearly my whole life. The small town of brownstown literally has 7 places if that to eat. McDonald's being one of those you can always expect them to be busy. If you go through drive-through, they strive to get drive-through times low. They are fairly speedy and typicly will not bat an eye about pulling you forward so they can accommodate your order and others in a fairly timely manner. That being said, sometimes the people working there come off edgy or rude because of the stressful situations they are dealing with. I used to go inside with my family for a nice fairly fast meal on a hot day and the facility was never super dirty or unacceptable. The reason we stopped that was the older gentleman that owns this facility comes in fairly regularly. He for one is inpatient and has zero tolerance for nearly everything. He expresses his disgruntled attitude by yelling and cussing at people. Yes cussing , I for one will not tolerate my children hearing someone be treated the way he treats his crew mostly being teenagers. Alot of menu items I regularly order are gone from the breakfast list due to the pandemic. As for the food. Expect your burgers to be thrown together a little sloppy, fries to be redropped salted fries that won't taste well. The only way to get good fries is to ask for unsalted at which they drop fresh fries with no salt just for you. One thing me ,and anyone I know do here is. Always check your food make sure it is correct before you leave , and that you have it all there. The return to the store is very seldom a good trip at any establishment. so one could expect a not so welcome attitude about missing or incorrect items. This is by far one of the most honest reviews you could hope to receive from local or passerby travelers. I do for one wish this establishment could and should improve on matters I've stated. Being as this is brownstown and we have a small community I dont see it...
Read moreAll in all, originally, this was a great place to work, or so I thought. They advertised that they weren't hiring teens, adults only (with experience!) so I put in an application with 15 years of experience, including management and got the full-time job I needed to stay afloat. I was completely open about my ADHD and autism, panic disorders, etc, and was told that everyone was friendly, it wouldn't be a problem.
Fast forward two months. I get told that my hours are being cut down to half my normal paycheck because "I haven't been trained in anything but dishes" and "I can't stay in one place for 8 hours."
Yeah, nobody with ADHD can stay in one place for 3 hours, let alone 8, and I informed the District Manager Angie that I was most certainly trained in more areas, even opened up my availability and let them know I could work anytime, day or night.
They told me they were "short-staffed" and didn't have the managers needed to "train me more."
The only thing I can't do is the speaker, and that's because I have severe audiosensory issues that the beeps on the headset set off.
I mean, yeah, it's a good place to eat, I guess. It's a McDonald's. What do you expect?
But when it came to employment, I didn't expect to be bullied and called names by managers, I didn't expect teenagers to be running all over the place (and other employees) and I certainly didn't expect to get told I wasn't trained because their managers didn't teach me jack.
Experience and knowledge should be valid, no matter where you obtained them.
In short, if anyone is looking for a fast food shift manager, I'm your girl. Just don't dismiss my experience due to idiocy. I don't have to work at your McDonald's to know how to run one. I just have to have the many years in fast food that I do.
PS. Stop telling your employees to do the surveys for your program. It's lying and it's cheating and I didn't do a Single one...
Read moreOrdered quarter pounder Deluxe. After the first bite I noticed mushy red meat that was under cooked. Being a Taxi driver and pressed for time so often. I just wasn't able to return to the location. So in the trash it went. That following day I returned to the same Seymour location. As I made the exact same order and specifically requesting the meat Patty on my quarter pounder be fully cooked and not raw. Got my order and drove off to my next fare. I then returned right away to the location requesting to speak with anyone other than the employee that was informed of me. Even though she didn't recognize me this person tried causing problems for me some years back. The shift manager then came to address the matter in a very rude manor. To my food and receipt closed the window and returned in a violently aggressive tone.demanding I leave at once because I was giving the employees a hard time. I chuckled then asked if I may have my receipt back, after the manager denied my request. I asked so how I might go about getting my money back. The manager said I bared from the restaurant. So I asked do I have to have the police come, telling the manager you got my money, my receipt and my food. This don't happen way to often but it does. I realize food service employees work hard for their money, as do I. It's pretty bad when you mess up a job flipping...
