Kikis — Restaurant in Brownsville

Visited Brownsville this past weekend. After calling the restraunt several times to place an order, the phone line was busy over and over. So I drove there and noticed they had a drive thru. Got in line at the drive thru and spent nearly 40 minutes there before my order could be taken. I get to the window and the worker asked me if I had called to place an order ahead of time! Like What?!! How was I even supposed to do that?! Anyway, he takes my order and tells me to park and wait. I waited an additional 15 minutes and no one was at the drive thru anymore and no one ever came out with my food. I Googled another restraunt, placed my order and picked up right away. I'm never using Kikis again. Such a shame, it used to be my go-to-place when...

Came back and got a fajita plate. it was so very good. I do recommend this dish. Anyone who likes fajitas gives it a try. Oh my goodness, now this place isn't playing. I haven't been here for more than 5yrs and decided to come and eat the Costillas, and they aren't playing. They actually have meat on them vs. Some places they so thin and have no meat, but these were cooked to perfection. At least I really enjoyed my dish. This is the original 1st kikies on hwy 48 padre Island Rd. If you want good hotel ribs, this is the place. Don't want to jinx it just hoping they are consistent on the size of the ribs. This place used to be good but not anymore. It's impossible to place an order by phone. It took me like 20 some minutes just to get ahold of someone to just take an order. I get to the pick up window, and the guy says it an extra 3.00 dollar charge just to use my debit on the plate mix for 6 ppl which was more for 4. The meat didn't taste up to par, it was super salty and tasted old. Upon reading other reviews here, I can tell I wasn't the only one that experienced this. This why I prefer Bigos now. I will say this though, the Agua frescas are always good at Kikis and the workers seem okay. I've never got bad service here. Just the quality of meat, extra debit charge, and the difficulty...
