I was looking forward to some good, authentic Mexican food. We walked in just before seven on a Friday evening and saw that there was nobody in the dining room. We were seated right away, but it turned out the employee waiting tables spoke only Spanish. When we asked if they did chile rellenos they offered to make it so we ordered it along with agua fresca and a tamale. He returned to ask if we wanted rice and beans with our order, one of us said yes. The table was sticky, but all of them were. When our food was delivered to the table we were each presented with a spoon to eat with. ? The agua fresca was good, the chile rellenos were cheesy with a nice sauce. The salsa was watery but had a good flavor. The tamale was not good, mostly a weird spongy dough, I only ate a couple bites.. A few people came in to pick up to-go orders while we continued to be the only ones in the dining room on a Friday night until just before we finished. We went to the register to get our bill but he rang up the total which was much more than I had expected, and then I got a printout. The two things that ran the bill so high were the agua fresca that was 4.25 on our menu but are now 6.00, and the rice and beans that rang up at 5.00 each. The total was nearly $70. After complaining (really difficult communication with the server not speaking English) and talking with the owner, they reduced the amount to what we felt was more reasonable. Prior to this visit I had gotten tacos to go and they were delicious. After this experience I don't expect to go back, but if I did it would be for tacos to go. They need to clean the dining room. The price of the food should match the price on the menu. Presenting a bill to review before paying would help. Offering forks to eat with would be great. Stick with the tacos and take them...
Read moreI've ordered delivery twice and thoroughly enjoyed both times. First time I got the Shrek Burrito. The burrito was HUGE, enough for dinner, lunch the next day, and some left over. It had a slight kick (which I expected from the description) but not overwhelming. The second time I got the Tequila Tacos and they were absolutely delicious. I also got cheese dip and it is the best in the area hands down, the chips are homemade, thicker style and had just the right amount of salt. I did see many comments about pricing, and I did notice if I click the "Order online" through the website or Google, the prices are higher than on DD currently. I paid $4 each for the tacos and 2 tacos were very filling. They came with picked onions, 2 cucumber slices and a (very) spicy green verde sauce which is delicious but a little goes a long way. The Shrek Burrito was $14.99 and came with beans and rice. $6 for 1 container (10-12 oz) of cheese dip. I felt all were very reasonably priced, especially for the...
Read moreStopped in this afternoon to grab some tacos and horchata. We had their 12 combo, with Tequila Tacos, Azteca Tacos, Trompo Tacos, and Tacos Dorados De Papa. My partner and I have travelled extensively across the United States and were recently in Arizona for our wedding, while we were there we fell in love with Tacos Dorados De Papa but have had a hard time finding them in our travels across Florida.
We were beyond elated when we saw them here and they did not disappoint! The food here was DELICIOUS. Horchata was amazing too. The service was top notch and the food was quick out of the kitchen. The price was amazing for the quality.
I have travelled to Mexico many times, and have had tacos from all throughout America. This place was truly authentic. We are in town for a week and will be back for more. Well worth the stop if you are passing by on a road trip or if you live here and haven’t stopped in yet.
