Waffle House — Restaurant in Brunswick

I was there a week ago with my sister. The only positive thing I have to say is they did a good job of separating the booths with plastic curtains and they did wipe down the tables with chlorine. However. The service from the wait Staff was horrible. There were two girls waiting the tables and 2 guys cooks. The girls did not have tables that they were responsible for. When one finally took our order, the other one came after her to take our order again. When our food came, we had to ask for eating utensils which were handed to us with their bare hands. They wore masks but did not cover their nose, only their mouths. I ordered eggs over easy, but could not earn them because they were too runny. We asked for some salt but the shaker was so sticky we had to wrap it in a napkin. the trash was full and when they emptied a dish, the food fell on the floor and was just kicked out of the way.

Nice waffle house- newer. But most of the staff should be fired. If there was a manager there, he may need to be retrained. 2 cooks, 4 waitresses. They weren't busy when we got there. We waited almost 10 minutes for a table to be cleared and then another 5 and we finally asked someone for a menu since no one was worried about us. Ole girl at the register must have had her feet glued there. Cause if there wasn't someone at her register, all she could do was sip her coffee. She stared me in the eyes..... And didn't seem to care the other waitresses may need her help. Our food was right/good. But I saw 2 different groups get out and walk out because they never were even asked for a drink order. I could understand if they were understaffed, but with 6 people there.... And no one waiting to be seated and the whole bar seats were empty when we got there......no reason for...

What can anyone say about Waffle House other than it's Waffle House? If you've been to one you've been to them all. I've been to 3 or 4 between Texas and Georgia and they have essentially been carbon copies of each other.

The restaurant near the islands here was right on par. The staff were friendly, the service was quick, and the food was identical to other stores. If you're looking for a fancy place, WH isn't it. It's friendly enough for families, but no one is going to call it "nice." It's basically a breakfast dive in franchise form. Honestly, McDonald's is more high end feeling.

Of course that's not why you go to WH. I actually do really like the food, and you can't beat the price. If you're in the south you have to try it once. Make a stop on the way out to the islands on...
