Blueberry Hill Pancake House and Restaurant — Restaurant in Bryan

First time visiting this establishment, and it a couple weeks after inside dining reopened after the COVID-19 Stay at Home Order. Their new procedures in response to the pandemic were in place and it looked like they were putting forth all efforts to abide for customer and employee safety.

Our server didn’t introduce herself. I assumed she was new to serving so I cut her a lot of slack. She brought us our drinks promptly, but she seemed sort of out of it. It wasn’t very busy, just steady flow of customers... but to me she seemed to act overwhelmed. In short, she took my family’s order, and we spoke slowly and clearly, but still had to repeat the order. I’m guessing she hasn’t mastered shorthand to take orders on a pen pad. Our food came out quickly, brought by a different server. We were not checked on by our assigned server again the entire evening. She stayed at the cash register. I flagged down the other server to let her know that my salad and my husband’s toast was forgotten, but she graciously assisted and she wasn’t the one who took our order anyway so we were grateful she stepped up.

For the food, my husband ordered biscuits and gravy and I ordered fettuccine Alfredo with broccoli. Both meals, we agreed, were fine. We couldn’t season our food I initially as our assigned server did not provide us with salt and pepper. I will saw the garlic bread baguette was my favorite part of the dish I ordered. My kids had the Mickey Mouse pancakes and the chicken tenders. No complaints from them, in fact if anything, the pancake portion was enormous for child size and you get your money’s worth. It’s probably even bigger than the piggy pancakes from Bob Evans. The chicken tenders were like a crispy beer batter style, and down in house. We all tasted the chicken and agreed it was the best meal ordered. The son was particularly fond of the BBQ sauce. Not sure if it was made in house or not, but it was good.

The server who brought our food apologized for the other server’s neglect and we gave our tip to her, because she did her best to check on us once she realized that we were neglected by our assigned server.

We will come back, and hopefully the server gains more experience before serving us again. I don’t remember if there is an adult chicken tenders meal, but I can’t stop thinking about that chicken! Thank you to the server who stepped up. You didn’t have to do that, but we...

We were there tonite 2/12/22 Sat nite. And first of all to start our waitress was the worst.. First of all when we got seated our waitress Melanie was setting with some guy behind us she finally got up to ask us what we wanted to drink witch we thought why is our waitress setting there when supose to be working and shes setting there talking to her guy friend VERY UN- PERSONAL especially when the other waitress was very friendly to there customers.Then it took for ever for our food people came in after us and got there food way before us. Then finally our waitress brought our food we ask for tarter sauce with the fish she never brought it, so she kept going back to her guy friend behind us, I turned around to ask for the 2 time for our tarter sauce it was like all she worried about was her guy friend.. asking him do u need more water and etc.. she didn't come back to see if we needed and thing we had to ask for more drinks or what ever we needed.. all I can say is we come there often and here lately it's been not good so I think this will be our last time we pay like others we dont make a seen but this did us in this time.and my dinner I had chicken wasnt cooked all the way it had white stuff running out of the meat heres a pic so I just didn't eat my meal didn't want to get sick..VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH UR RESTAURANT.. it's sad but may be u need to hire people that are more people friendly. Food was very good with large portions. I got a hungryman skillet and some pancakes with strawberries. My sister ordered the same thing and we very much enjoyed our food. My brother ordered chicken and waffles and thought it was tasty (he's a picky eater sometimes). Mother and grandmother were also very happy with their meals.

The staff were friendly and working very hard. We received our food in a timely manner, and our waitress kept our glasses of water topped off before we could even ask :) she did an excellent job!

The restaraunt patrons were a bit noise, as there were many people there after church (we went on a Sunday) but it wasn't too bad. Considering the number of people dining in, it was relatively reasonable.
