Here is self service, so you need to order at the counter and when they call your last two digit# on the receipt you need to pick it up from the counter.
HongKong BanJum which is famous for JjamBbong in S. Korea was started by JongWon Baek.
There are a lot of branches in S.Korea and recently, he has been trying to expand more chains in US.
The Broth for JjamBbong made by sea foods and fresh vegitables with hot peppers, so the soup has a hearty and spicy flavor.
When you eat JjamBbong, try to eat with TangSuYuk which is sweet and sour pork.
It would be perfect matching.
There is JjaJangMyun which is black-bean-sauce noodles but it is a little bit sweet.
When you want to eat spicy soup or try to relieve a hangover, please try to order JjamBbong.
I 've been following hostess of this restaurant, so I know well about the history of this branch.
I met her first time in food court in Freshia Market at Garden Grove a few years ago, when she opened it.
I really loved to eat JjamBbong at that time. However, Freshia Market was bankrupt, so they could not continously do the business there.
After that, she opened new branch at Arirang Market at Fullerton, so I started to visit there to eat JjamBbong.
Finally, she opened new branch at Village Circle on Beach at Buena Park which is nearby my house and located in independent building.
Anyway, I been following her to eat this delicious JjamBbong. Now I can enjoy it without any concern of closing.
Try to eat JjamBbong which is spicy and delicious.
You will love it when you are...
Read moreNot sure why this place is rated 3.5/5 on Yelp, both times I passed by they were super busy. Even arriving at an odd time (around 2pm – weekday) to give them a try, the tables were filled. Ok a first timer here, I was a bit overwhelmed – what do I do? Where do I stand? What do I order? Plan ahead and scan the menu before arriving at the restaurant – I know there is this thing with Koreans they ask are you team jjajangmyeon or team Jjamppong? Which is odd because both noodle dishes vary different in style and flavor.
jjajangmyeon –Chines-Style Korean noodle dish topped with a thick sauce made of chunjang, diced pork, and vegetables.
Jjamppong – a Chinese-style Korean noodle soup with red, spicy seafood- or pork-based broth flavored with gochugaru.
If you can’t pronounce the names, then say the number of the dish – pay and they give you a number. I really do enjoy spice and I know I would love them both unfortunately, I have a slight shellfish allergy so I haven’t even tried Jjamppong. Although I did come with my partner and encouraged her to try the soup, she decided on Bokkeummyeon instead. The jjajangmyeon was very good and flavorful, yes as most say the portion is enough for 2. I also tried a bit of the Bokkeummyeon, although good it was a bit too salty for me. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot if you are in the area and want to try...
Read moreCame here early so had no problem with parking or customers . So we tried a variety of items from the non spicy wings, jajangmyeon, tangsuyuk, and gunmandu. Everything was a first for us , so not sure how things are suppose to taste . But for us it looked good and tasted ok . The store itself was super clean and food came out very quick . The menu would been great if they had a little explanation of what the dishes were . So now to customer service , I asked the lady at the counter if I can have a to-go box . She then gives me a container for soup , and I was trying to explain I need a box . I pointed to box and she slammed another soup container . I had 3 dishes to put and didn't want them, smushed all together . So I tried to have my friend ask for a box , and she told her no . I posted the picture of my food items that I wanted to put in a box . Hopefully next time others would not have this problem , am hoping their management would speak to their employee regarding giving away to-go containers . Other than that experience, the...
