Buffalo Sushi Express — Restaurant in Buffalo

Unassuming place (actually wasn't sure if it was open, looking through the window it looked very dark despite doordash saying it was open and allowing me to place the order) and I only happened to discover it because my options for sushi at the moment are dwindling by the day so if I have to go out somewhere and it's a different area I see if there's anything nearby. Took a chance and ordered (I'm not very adventurous, all I order from any place is the sweet potato roll) and not knowing what to expect (the online menu doesn't elaborate though for something as simple as "sweet potato roll" there are endless variations) I ordered two rolls. The size was EXTREMELY generous. Ten pieces per roll and not just because they were cut thin. The roll consists of a crispy sweet potato (not like some places that cover it in grease and a coat of armor made of tempura) and avocado. I liked the proportion of sweet potato to avocado and I'm not sure if it normally has eel sauce on it, I always put a note to make mine dry as I usually don't eat it immediately, though I think it does because the end of one roll had a little bit of sauce as if they started to put it on and realized "oops" (which was fine)

This is genuinely my favorite restaurant EVER. Also, the best ramen I have ever had. I refuse to get ramen anywhere else in Buffalo… NOTHING compares. Their sushi and drinks are also extremely good. I go here at least once a month, and order takeout at least twice. My boyfriend and I come here for all of our anniversaries (it was also the place we went to for our first date, because I knew he’d trust my food recommendations after taking him here haha). My fiancé and our friends came here for our first time. Our friends swear by this place. I see why, first of all it’s very clean, I love the seating, there’s booths and privacy. The service was amazing, they’re so welcoming and friendly, the food was amazing. We had appetizers and sushi, we already can’t wait to come back here.

They close at 9 on weeknights which is reasonable, we stayed talking and laughing with our friends late (not realizing the closing time), and they weren’t rude and didn’t ask us to leave which they totally could have and we would have respected that.
