We had a midday graduation party for my daughter and she requested chicken and waffles. I remembered the name Crenshaw's from an article in Gusto, so I contacted them to see if they could provide the meal. That was the start of a great experience. Gregory Crenshaw was an absolute pleasure to work with. He helped me put together a menu and worked with me to finalize quantities based on an ever-growing guest list. My questions and concerns were all handled efficiently and effectively. When I came to pick the food up it was ready to go on time and packaged for easy handling. I almost had to pull over on the drive home to have a piece of chicken as the smell was intoxicating. We had fried chicken, waffles, smoked gouda mac & cheese, home fries and yams. To say the food was delicious would not do it justice; It was truly amazing! The guests raved about it all day long. The chicken was cooked to perfection with a coating that was "out of this world" tasty. The waffles (in five different flavors) had my daughters' friends in a state of bliss, especially when they put on his cream cheese glaze! The mac & cheese, home fries and yams were not just afterthoughts, they were each a culinary masterpiece in their own unique flavors and textures. Okay, so first off the owner remembers people he's talked to! I ended up picking up some uber deliveries on mother's day. I asked him about the menu, and he explained everything in detail! He said he'd be excited to see me back. 5 days later, I enter the restaurant, the owner remembered me and greeted me right away, and said how nice it was to see me again! I ordered a red velvet waffle with chicken breast, a chicken sandwich, Mac & cheese, & garlic sauce fries. WHEN I TELL YOU THIS IS THE BEST CHICKEN AND WAFFLE I EVER HAD???!?? The waffle had such a pleasant sweetness, but not too sweet, the sauce they make for the waffle?? 100000000/10. Make sure you order extra! I don't have a big sweet tooth, but this was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The chicken?? Seasoned perfectly, cooked beautifully, it had this crispy skin, but soo moist. It really reminds me of grandma's cooking, but waaaay better. The Mac & cheese? Omg it even had the crusty cheese top. It was so good. Great cheese sauce, noodles were cooked perfectly, and the flavors mixed with everything I ordered! The fries were also very good, the garlic sauce is awesome. I think it's homemade.

Leeeegit joint. Passes the vibe check for sure. Chicken breast is pounded out schnitzel style and seasoned really well. They could expand the flavor combos with different marinades/cures if they wanted to get bougier, but I like the simplicity despite the menu being large. I would pay extra for actual maple syrup. The place has a good vision of where they wanna go. Great renovated building complex with several other budding businesses adjacent, and also worth visiting while they are prepping your food. You are given a meal pager so you know when your food's ready. Start to finish from order was around 20 minutes. Piping hot fresh. Deep fried waffle bites were insane. Would prefer to eat on site for a crispier waffle(Chinese bubble waffle style), but there are only two tables in the joint during the winter months. There is a common area with picnic tables in the atrium/converted alleyway that is probably awesome during the spring/summer/fall. I feel like they would do sit-down service really well if they had the space. Super professional and well thought out menu arrangement/options, branding and management effort.
