If you’re downtown in the Larkin area, it’s busy. Always will be. Be prepared for a decent wait anywhere you go. But if you want your wait to be worth it, stop in to D.A. taste. The food is absolutely incredible. The atmosphere is modern, friendly and very clean. Tons of amazing local Art for everyone to see and enjoy! I mean, even their bathrooms are beautiful. Great menu options for all the taco lovers! Ranging from Shrimp to Jerk Chicken, Haddock and even their classic Birria. Every option is delicious, I don’t see how you could go wrong. They also have combo meals that really help keep some $$$ in your wallet. They even have a hard serve ice cream list for those who have that sweet tooth or for the kiddos! Locally owned not to mention. I’ve also had the pleasure of watching D.A. Taste grow into what it has become today. “Started from the bottom, now we’re here” should be their slogan. That or “Buffalo’s Best Tacos”. Both of which are spot on. After a brief interview with one of the owners, here’s what Dominik had to say. “Back in 2020, they both lost their jobs due to the covid pandemic. They then decided to take life by the reigns and try something new. From cooking out the kitchen to moving multiple times to find “Just the right location” and they didn’t always do just tacos. They’ve done Ramen ( a huge seller) , Burgers, Steaks, Chicken and Waffles and then one day. Boom! Birria tacos! He likes to think as his corner store days as a stepping stone into the success him and his wife have had, and the future is bright for them! He’s considering expanding the business and its opportunities! Catering, New locations and even a Ramen house! Big things are in store for D.A. Taste and their amazing food! I remember the days when half of south Buffalo would beg D. A. Taste to work their way onto Uber eats, now?! The same people who have supported them back then support them now. I think I can speak for the rest of us when I say “D.A Taste has some of the best Tacos in Buffalo”

I’d just like to start this off by saying I absolutely love the food. My personal favorite is the honey garlic chicken tacos, but the birría and jerk chicken are just as good! The issue for me is with the service and wait times. It’s really hard for me to absolutely fall in love with a place and choose it over anything else if the service is mid at best. There’s a lot of green servers which is great for those looking to start in the food industry, but it’s unfair to customers and the employees alike to put brand new people upfront or have them answering phones during a dinner rush. I called over the phone trying to place an order for pickup when I was in Hamburg (bc the previous 3 times it’s been a long wait), and got all the way through the order before the woman on the phone told me they only take card payments for phone orders. When I told her I had nothing but cash the response told to me was that the only other thing I could do was place a DoorDash order or place an order inside. I was a little irritated that they wasn’t iterated at the beginning but it’s fine. The bigger issue came when I got inside, where after placing my order I had to wait a whole 90 minutes before my food was done. The food is stellar but the wait times and communication can definitely be better. Once again great food, and excited to see them at Taste of Buffalo this year!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can’t say enough good things about D.A. TASTE! From the moment you walk in, you feel the energy — the smell of slow-cooked birria hits you right away, and you know you’re about to eat something special. Their famous beef birria tacos are honestly unmatched, packed with flavor and served with that rich consommé that keeps you dipping until the last bite. Every taco I’ve tried has been a knockout — from the Shrimp Po Boy to the Honey Garlic Fried Chicken to the award-winning Dom’s Taco, you can tell they’re putting serious thought and love into every recipe. What I really love is that they’re not just making tacos, they’re creating an experience. The menu is creative and fun, but still rooted in real, scratch-made cooking. You see the hard work in the kitchen, the long hours, the pots simmering — it’s not fast food, it’s food made with pride. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the vibe in the shop is full of Buffalo pride. They even bring their trailer out to events, and the lines are always packed because everyone knows it’s worth the wait. Buffalo has a lot of good food, but D.A. TASTE is on another level. It’s more than a restaurant — it feels like a movement, a local spot putting Buffalo on the map one taco at a time. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. Hands down, the best tacos in the 716!

Let me just tell you about the experience I had trying DA Taste for the first time today. Buckle your seatbelts and strap yourself in for this one.

Firstly, let me start off by saying that we called 36 times. 36. We knew the phones would be off the ringers from the second they opened, and we are at work downtown so we can't just go form a line outside the door at 11:30. We thought all hope was lost by call 15, but we persisted and kept at it, determined to get "The Best Tacos in Buffalo" just this once. I'm so glad we did. Placing the order was simple, the staff was friendly, and this replicated itself in store where they greeted us kindly and welcomed us in. I would gladly pay these prices any day of the week. In fact, if I had $20 to my name, I can assure you that the last 18 of it is going to DA Taste. That's how good it was. I got the Birria tacos, and they certainly do not skimp on the meat, cheese, or flavor. I began to lose sense from reality as I kept chomping at my food and going back for more, before I was done with the mouthful. The consumme was an excellent pairing to go with those birria tacos. I'm not a food network critic, but let me tell you when I say that was the perfect umame flavor, I mean it. Not to mention the lime for a little acid... game over. I tried my friends' cheese and pretzel bites, and that cheese is STELLAR.. Absolutely something I'm going to be telling my great grandchildren about in the next 50 years.

Get out there and try these for yourself because you will have an out of body experience just as I. This was the perfect start to...
