Diesel Tap House — Restaurant in Buford

BLUF (bottom line up front) - Service was laughable, new server and she was too interested in mingling with the other 15 people at the card tables. Food was cold, inedible, or just gross. I picked this place as I have been before and have loved it - now I have egg on my face because it was a horrible experience.

Four friends and I came into the Diesel Tap House just after 9pm on Wed, Jun 14th. We sat at a table and a young lady came over and handed us menus and took our drink order. During this interaction she informed us that she was very new (we thought it was strange that she was working the table by herself being very new). She left to get our drinks.

When she came back with the drinks, a more seasoned waitress came over with her and informed us that we had been given the wrong menus (apparently after 9pm the menus change). The menus were swapped - so far not bad, just aggravated that we all knew what we wanted and now had to get something else as the items we were going to get were not on the night menu.

We ordered our food (and the young lady wrote it down on a notepad) and then we waited and waited and waited. About 30 minutes later the young lady comes back over and asks me and another what we had ordered as she was just entering our food and I guess couldn't read her writing. Again we updated her and she walked away to input our order.

About an hour after we walked into the establishment we finally get our food; however, another order by another friend is incorrect (he ordered a chili dog and got chili cheese fries). The food (except my burger and other friend's burger) were inedible or cold or just gross.

Overall, service was non-existent except to the folks playing cards or buying shots (of which this young lady participated in). We had empty drinks, had to ask for things several times and told them at the end of the night that the food was awful to which their only reply was "sorry".

We were in your establishment for almost 2 hours and it is in my top 3 for horrible - I hate to say it.

I have been to Diesel several times and have loved it every time, the food, the service, and the atmosphere has always been 4 or 5 stars - but this trip makes me and my friends never want to visit Diesel ever again. In fact, I know two of them that will never set foot in their again due to this visit.

Hopefully I hope in the future I can come back again to see that DTH is back to where...

Do not let the pictures and reviews fool you. I came SOBER(which I think is relevant because it is a bar/grill) I got the Chicken Parm Pasta(sub Alfredo), Basket of Shrimp, Kids Spaghetti, side of Mac, side of Sweet Potato Fries(they are waffle cut)…waste of money. Nothing was good. The pasta’s were watery. Basket of Shrimp for $18 only for about 6-8 fried shrimp. The Alfredo had a canned taste. The sweet potato fries were FRIED hard enough to knock on the table. My child didn’t even eat the spaghetti because it was not good. The Mac was not good at all and didn’t look anything like the pictures in the reviews. The only thing I actually like was the chicken on the Chicken Parm which was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Outside of that as a first time pick up/customer…not worth the amount of money that was spent, pictures didn’t add up and the food was terrible. 0/0 don’t recommend. But then again, I came on a Tuesday 🤷🏾‍♀️ better luck to the next guy, I suppose.

Edit: and the times don’t match the website or the times on the door. Went one night and said they were open…they were not. When we pulled up they were packing up and leaving. I visited today around 1pm. It wasn't fairly busy and there seemed to be only 1 waitress. I am not sure if she was tired, stressed or both but she was trying. She smiled a few times but overall the service was mediocre at best. The food was not good. Our table ordered the following items; cheese curds, buffalo chicken dip, a ground beef taco (special request), a fried chicken taco, and couple of philly cheesestakes (one with fries and another with mac and cheese). The cheese curds were the best thing at the table. The buffalo chicken dip was dry. The chips were not "fresh." The ground beef taco was a joke. It seems they chopped a hamburger patty and threw shredded cheese on top (didn't melt). The friend chicken taco was under whelming. The chicken was over cooked. The cilantro lime sour cream had little to no flavor. The Philly's we're the worst part. Greasy, flavorless, and the meat was dry. The fries looked like they have been cooked in 3 day old oil. The mac and cheese is equivalent to the cracker barrel mac and cheese from the box. To top it off we had to purchase sauce to smother the food in to help flavor it. Not a place I would recommend for food. The atmosphere, however, seems like it would be a cool place to visit at night (pool tables, bar, slot...
