I've never sat and ate here bc it's basically a taco stand at the back of a large convenience store at a gas station, so I'm never there with time to do anything but get gas and get a takeout box of food from these awesome ladies, and there's not usually room to sit and eat anyway lol! But that's a good sign of a popular eatery with good food, and when you stop to get gas and then go inside to pay (especially first thing in the morning when they're cooking a lot of their meats for the day) the SMELLS of the barbacoa, the asada and the grilled chicken are simply too good to NOT go back to the counter and see what's cooking! The ladies who work the taqueria are really nice and they never make fun of me for ordering in my "white girl Spanish" lol! The food is amazing, and if you don't like authentic Spanish food, they have the ingredients to make the tacos with flour tortillas and they can Americanize it with iceberg lettuce, sour cream and shredded cheese. But there is NOTHING better than a hot, fresh corn tortilla holding perfectly seasoned & chopped carne asada, lemony fresh cilantro and sweet onions that are so finely chopped, they melt with the beef as soon as the taco hits your mouth - squeeze a lime wedge they provide with each taco you buy over the whole thing before you start to eat, and THAT is the perfect taco!! Don't let that stigma about gas station food keep you away from this place - it's consistently great Mexican tacos and tortas at a price that you CANNOT beat at any comparable restaurant. If you like El Carretón in Gainesville, then you'll totally dig this...
Read moreI recently had the misfortune of visiting this established, and it was the worst dining experience of my life. The staff were shockingly rude from the moment I approached the counter, with the person taking orders snapping at me for asking questions and rolling their eyes at a simple customization request. The tacos were bland, poorly assembled, and made with the lowest quality ingredients, with stale tortillas to top it off. When I pointed out that my order was incorrect, they accused me of lying and refused to fix it. I left with inedible food and a feeling of deep frustration. Avoid this place at all costs; there are plenty of other places that treat customers with basic decency and serve...
Read moreWhen you think of food, do you think of a Chevron? I don't think so! They're not owned by Chevron but they have a spot within the Chevron. If you want some of the best tacos you could ever have this is a great place to get it. Authentic Mexican food ran by amazing Mexican women. They'll make it a spicy as you can handle it or white people spicy lol no spicy at all. That's me.
They personally know my mom at this point and I usually get a burrito. If you never been here I 1000% recommend coming here.
Dear white people, if you don't know Spanish at all but you know like high school Spanish please don't talk to them in Spanish. It's cringy and I've watched it and it's hilarious but...
