We visited this hidden gem last night for a double date, and it did not disappoint!
Appetizers; My wife and I ordered the juicy bread for our appetizer. I’m not sure what I was expecting from the name juicy bread, but it was bread with butter on it. My wife enjoyed it, and so did I, however a dip would have been a nice compliment to the bread. It was toasted the perfect amount, which I didn’t even know was a thing.
Our friends ordered the potato skins, and there was a large portion, with a good amount of toppings. They were very happy with them and made positive comments about the taste of the ingredients such as the sour cream.
Appetizer round 4.5/5 while it was good, a simple olive oil and herb, or some sort of dip would have taken the juicy bread over the top.
Entrees; Our entrees came with house, or caesar salad, we both chose caesar. They came out in little lettuce boats with fresh grated cheese, croutons, and fresh dressing. It was neat, I have never seen a salad served like this. I simply picked up the lettuce leaves and ate them like a piece of pizza bite by bite. The caesar was delicious, and tastes home made.
My wife and I ordered steaks for our entrees, her the filet, and the ribeye myself. Typically my wife asks for her steak to be cooked a bit more than she likes because it comes out undercooked. Rustic Roots was no exception to this rule. However, what was an exception was that when my wife asked, Margaret our server was open and honest that they are an undercook steak kind of place. This was a tremendous help as you know how to order accordingly. My ribeye looked larger than the advertised 12+oz which was a pleasant surprise. It was cooked perfectly pink! The flavor was on point, and it was nice a tender. You can appreciate their use of quality meat with each bite.
We both were impressed with the baked potato’s. They were large, but the highlight was the quality ingredients. Our friends were spot on with their earlier comments from the appetizer round. The sour cream tastes home made, and the creaminess, and flavor were on point. They use real bacon pieces instead of bacon bits as well which added another depth of flavor.
Entree round 5/5 the food was bursting with flavor and portions were generous.
Dessert; Both my wife and I, and our friends ordered a dessert and the 4 of us shared the 2. We ordered a Brown Butter Cake, as well as a Crème Brûlée Cheesecake. WOW! They both were delicious! I am usually not a huge dessert fan, however these 2 are a must try when you visit Rustic Roots. They were bursting with flavor, and once again the ingredients were top notch.
Dessert round 5/5 simply fantastic!
Cocktails; Margaret was well informed with the specials not listed on the menu. I was intrigued by the strawberry and brown sugar old fashioned and decided to try it. I chose to upgrade from Makers Mark to Woodford Reserve Double Oak bourbon. The flavor profile really brought a new angle to an old fashioned. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the ratios of ingredients allowed each aspect to shine. Nothing was overpowering, and the flavors almost came in sequence to one another.
My wife ordered a Jack and Coke and didn’t make her normal squishy face that it was overpowering. She was pleased with her ratios as well.
Cocktail round 5/5, not too strong, not too light, like Goldie Locks it was just right!
Atmosphere; This restaurant looks exactly how the food tastes and is advertised. The exterior gives off the farm to table vibe immediately as you park, and Inside is no different. It is not overwhelming with decor, but not lacking. The noise level was well within reason to carry on a normal conversation.
Atmosphere 5/5 simple, charming, perfect for date night!
Service; Margaret was a great server. It’s all too easy to be overbearing, or never around enough. Margaret found that perfect balance of making sure we never went without while not interrupting too often. She was wonderful and final piece to a great night out.
Service “round” 5/5 I would not hesitate to ask for...

Rustic roots is a blend between fine dining without the fine down price. Now, when it comes to the customer service from the greeter to the manager to the waitress, everyone did a phenomenal job accommodating us and making sure that everything runs smooth. We slipped into a two hour window and had five minutes to spare forward 10 minutes to spare before the next reservation came the customer service is a 10 of 5
Do not go to this restaurant without getting a reservation the easiest way to get a reservation is by going online. Second easiest way is calling in during operational hours.
Now, the only reason that I’m giving this place 4.5 and not a 5 is because of the decor is not appropriate friendly for some all ages. The owners do have a sense of humor, but some decor is not necessary. We got that way let’s get good stuff.
The story about this place is mind blown. For the owners to have a form sell the blueberry crops to buy the restaurant to find out that the restaurant was built by their grandfather almost did a Fred Sanford. I’m coming to join you, honey when I heard this story The history of a place brings so much richness in value to how I got there in this is a testament that God is who is.
Deviled eggs 12 of 5 Juicy bread 3.5 of 5 Gnocchi 10 of 5 Burger 4 of 5
The flavor profile for the deviled eggs is amazing. The brisket is tender is the most balanced flavor profile out of all the items that we’ve had unique and tasty the reason that is unique because of the texture of the egg yolk and white with the brisket and green onions with barbecue sauce Was literally out of this world.
The hamburger they made it the way I like it. It tastes amazing without having to use condiments, which is always a good sign for hamburger. You can taste the meat quality of the meat and not have the poor ketchup, salt, pepper, and everything that’s on the table in the sandwich to make it pop.
The Gnoochi this dish almost made me take the shelf out for dinner and buy him beers. This dish was undescribable smooth cheesy savory buttery Fuego. This is a dish is one that stops conversations you’re busy talking to you, wife your date whomever and you take a bite and because the flavors is so loud you can’t hear them talking to you. This is the dish that you get upset that somebody else ordered it thankfully my wife didn’t finish the dish and I got the opportunity to use that juicy bread to stop up that wonderful sauce. Defense to the order my wife didn’t finish due to dietary disciplines.
Did juicy bread I highly recommend that you buy or order something that the juicy bread comes with don’t get me wrong. It taste good but when you are by yourself and you only get two pieces for six dollars that ain’t the move so I recommend getting a dish that has Juicy bread with it. You give more pain for your buck
The fries was the most underrated of everything that I ordered, crunchy outside, soft inside seasoned well and freshly cut and cooked in the...
Read morePoor rating due to being turned away and misleading website information. Not on quality of food, service or staff due to not even getting to dine here. On their website it states they have a limited number of reservations that can be made, the rest are walk-ins that are welcome. We walked in at 5:06pm (they open at 5pm) and were told we would be unable to be seated at all that night. They were not taking any walk-ins at all that night because it was so “busy”. However there were multiple empty tables and the bar was practically empty. She said she had reservations for the whole place the whole night. Even if we waited we wouldn’t be seated. I asked if we could wait and she said no, they were booked the whole night. So no we were not welcome to wait. We drove 1 hour to try this place, and 1 hr home with no dinner. They should change the website to say reservation required and/or walk-ins can be turned away so people don’t waste 2 hours drive. If there was any warning on the website at all that you could be turned away I would not have wasted 2 hours of my time driving, gas milage, all of it for an empty stomach and then have to go home and cook on top of it all just to be turned away- I would NOT have not gone and just waited for a night when I could make a reservation. All this could have been avoided if they were honest and upfront on their website that walks ins can/will be turned away if it’s busy. Also how can it not be reservation only if you try and walk in and are told that the whole place is reserved for the whole night and be turned way? Again we arrived 6 min after they opened. It’s misleading and a terribly way to treat customers. They are literally out in the middle of nowhere so most people have to make a trek to get here and then to be told you can’t wait, you won’t be seated but they are not reservation only and walk ins are welcome is a joke. Be aware if you try and walk in. If you really want to try this place you’re better off waiting for a reservation or, like me, you’ll make the trek and be turned away based on misleading information, waist 2 hours of your time gas mileage and a very disappointing date night. I won’t be attempting to come here again because of how lame this whole experience was. It all could have totally be avoided if they were honest about their business practices and don’t mislead people. I wouldn’t mind having to wait for a reservation, but the fact that they jerked me around leading me to believe walkins are welcome when they really aren’t makes me not want to support a business like that. Also there is nothing...
