It is with a heavy heart that I have to give this restaurant such a poor rating. When they first opened I had several great dishes and thought it would be a place that I could go to on a regular basis.
Unfortunately the last two times that I went the food was either undercooked or dry and rubbery. Having to ask staff for silverware multiple times, not getting regular refills and overall poor service have been recent hallmarks of my visit to the Burleson Brunch House.
After the waitress finally checked on our table 3/4 of the way through our meal I had a plate left in front of me that was pretty much unedible. This is certainly NOT THE ONLY ISSUE.
We were sat at a table in the back left corner of the restaurant that had a burnt out light. My father, senior citizen could barely read the menu in this poorly lit corner of the restaurant.
In addition to the poorly lit location. We were directly adjacent to an electrical panel which had a clearly marked sign stating that the location of the table we were sitting at was in violation of the state electrical code.
When the waitress asked about my meal, The patty melt, I told her that it was so dry it was impossible to eat without taking a drink simultaneously. This information would definitely have been a clue that if the only way I was going to choke this down was that I would need to have my drink available. Unfortunately not a single time during the 40 minutes that I sat at the table was my drink refilled. The service was appalling and while the flavor of the food was adequate, the preparation was not what I would expect from a restaurant.
This time was was not the first time that the food was unedible. On a previous visit I ordered a brunch house burger that was so raw that almost threw up when I bit into it.
Well I have had several meals in my first few experiences with the Burleson Brunch House that were truly delightful, I can tell you that the food quality has gone down drastically and when it's busy the service is lacking.
Two stars is very generous for my last two experiences but I am considering the fact that I did have several positive experiences before the recent downturn of...
Read moreTook my daughter here today for her birthday. There was a 10 minute wait or so, no big deal as it was a little busy .. once seated, we ordered our drinks and most of our food. As we waited, a 12/13 top came in, along with at least 6 other smaller tables ... we waited, and waited ... and waited. We watched as the large table that came in several minutes after us all got their food, as well as the 6 other tables all gor their food. Still we waited. Well after an hour wait, another server walked past ask asked if we were doing ok, So I said well, we have been waiting over an hour and were just wondering .... at which point that server waived her hand and walked off mid sentance. I was not speaking in an off tone whatso ever, but was just going to ask if maybe there had been a mix up on ticket order or something. The 12 top all finished their food, and 3 other tables came and went as well, and as we were just about to ask for the check to leave, our food Finally showed up. Food was ok. Not outstanding and definitely not worth over an hour and 15 min wait while we watched others chow down who'd come in well after us, we had not ordered anything at all complicated, and there was only 4 of us) Our waitress (Amy) was sweet and did get our order accurate, but maybe a little inattentive, and did seem genuinely embarrassed for the ridiculous wait. Needless to say, we won't be back. If I am waiting that long for food, it should be absolutely phenomenal, not mediocre. Amy's tip was Not affected in anyway as it in no way was her fault, but altogether, it kind of spoiled my daughters traditional...
Read moreHuge disappointment after seeing the reviews and having friends recommend this place. Went a couple of weeks ago. Definitely a bit of a wait but I am used to that at any brunch spot at prime time. There was no seating outside (minimal inside for the crowd) for those waiting to be seated though and many patrons were smoking right by the door with no regard for anyone else. Once we were seated the service left a lot to be desired and the table wasnt very clean. No mimosas or alcoholic drinks, but that's because of where they are located. I just didn't realize that before we arrived, not their fault. Menu was pretty big and prices were good, but the food however was not. This was the first brunch I have ever not eaten. My partner was also disappointed in his meal but he was hungry enough to eat it. The steak was undercooked (ordered medium well, looked medium rare) and the 'smoked grits' were not what they were hyped up to be. They just had a cold lump of shredded gouda, unmelted, on top of them. I couldn't eat them, they were just bleh and I couldn't get over the hot/cold texture issue. During the entire 'meal' there were flies buzzing all around which was super annoying and off putting for a restaurant. They would land on the food, yuck. I can't think of one redeeming quality for our trip here. And a side note: please let the waitresses wear something other than white tshirts. They all had food and coffee stains all over them that were plain as day and looked bad/gross. Switch to black...
