Blue Claw — Restaurant in Burlington Township

Went last night for date night 2 couples we were seated within 10 mins quoted 20 min wait but that was only thing that went right oh besides beverage girl. Ordered beverages she was very sweet said waitress would be over waitress came no idea what her name was but she was very red faced like sunburned asked were we ready to order or any questions asked if just fried oysters and did calamari just come rings she said yes just fried oysters no calamari not just rings told her just a few mins please 20 mins went pass had to stand to get someones attention the very nice hostess came said I would get your waitress then beverage girl came ask did we need something yes to order then another girl came different waitress afro american with braids 🤔well we start to order appetizers and then our meals I ask what size blue crabs do you have thats really what I had my heart set on she says $5.50 size I ask thats all she says yes well didn't want that nor did my brother so I sub out and order lb of dungeness along with combo C with fried mushrooms & ceasar salad. We get our appetizers clams strips , hushpuppies , mozzarella sticks , crab cake and clam chowder also the ceasar salad and clam chowder with combo B comes out thats fine everything good. Food starts to come out lb of dungeness more like 1/2 pround not 1 full cluster should have gotten parts the I get handed combo B but I didn't order that I order combo C I didn't want a crab cake after she walked away in my heart I know I should have kept it because all they were going to do was remove crab cake not add anymore scallops & shrimp and just like I thought my platter and both B platters came right back out I had same amount of shrimp & scallops as they did no worries chalking it up as bad experience but gets worst. The one B combo had broccoli & garlic mash the broccoli was cold and hard like right off stalk , the mash potatoes were disgusting and cold. The 1 1/2 pd dungeness w/shrimp also had broccoli that was cold and hard along with 2 baked potatoes no butter no salt & pepper just dry. No one came back to our table for 20 more mins and wasn't the waitress that waited on us She never came back so tell this waitress the problems she says oh I can restream the broccoli after sitting 20 mins no thank you so she offered other sides got those to go. So I over hear a waitress very friendly guess her regular customers , she says the blue crabs are $4.50 - $7.50 tonight go look at the case Now I got angry I was not offered that and I still have this bland bowl of dungeness in front of me I would have gotten the $7.50 ones for sure So were we discriminated against by our look? Did she assume I couldn't afford $7.50 crabs only $5.50 ones? Why not same offer I get it the color of our skin? I was going to ask her but She never returned at all . Others cleaned our table off brought us take out containers but no bags, they had even started mopping back by us it was only 2 tables left us & the familiar table to the nice sounding waitress. I had stood up for 10mins no one still came over and I just had back surgery so long sitting periods cause pain it took 25 mins to get the check that was then $1 more but no sense worrying about that my problem was the dungeness & why I couldnt be offered the blue crabs I came for of course waitress no where in sight as we go to register and the girl at register cared less! Well I always loved coming to blue claw for over 10 years minus the pandemic but I will take my business someone else someone that appreciates their customers and that serves quality food especially for price you pay. I plan to dine here for over a week with my father brother and sister we where a party of four. We arrived a little before 6pm . The place was empty maybe a couple already dining. We where seated by Alex with menus with a smile and he took our drinks order and returned with them quickly and stated that our server would be over shortly. The the young lady appeared shortly and asked if we where ready to order , My sister asked she her name , We decided to order the special Appetizer she turned to look at the broad as if she couldn’t remember what it was it was a cup of clam chowder,lobster Mac and cheese, a fish taco and buffalo shrimp and we all order our entrees at this time . Sarah the retuned with the soup part of the appetizer and my fathers two side which was a cup of clam chowder and a ceasar salad. I was not understanding why she drop off my fathers two side and one thing from the appetizers special so we just asked Sarah for two additional spoons for the soup . She returned with three spoons placed them on the table with no napkin underneath. One out of the three spoons was dirty with food stains but with only needed two of them . Maybe a little over ten minutes did the rest of the appetizers arrived. The fish taco and the buffalo shrimp were awesome the lobster mac and cheese need to be seasoned and baked more.So when the entree arrived I had the combo with the broiled crab cake shrimp and scallops my sides was garlic mashed potatoes and coleslaw, I was disappointed the crab cake was not seasoned it seem deep fried not broiled, my shrimps were over cooked and needed seasoning the scallops we cooked perfectly my garlic mashed potatoes were runny and the coleslaw was not seasoned. Thank god they had salt pepper and Oldbay at the table. The fried combo seem to appear better then the broiled ones . At some point she did do a check in asking is everything ok and of course we all said yes , Shortly she asked my brother if he need he drink refilled and asked was it Diet Coke when it was regular coke. I was the first one finished eating .My sister and brother didn’t finish their entire dinner. so when Sarah finally returned we are for containers . My father ordered an additional combo to go . Sarah returned with the check and never returned. Alex was near by so I asked him to swipe my card my total bill was 154.64. Sarah did not even thank us for dinning . The overall service was horrible they must pull tips and that sucjs because Alex would have been a better server than Sarah . I will never have...

Invited a couple of friends to dinner. Heard good things about Blue Claw so we agreed to try them. Upon entering the parking lot we knew it wasn't going to be easy. The lot was PACKED. We found one spot all the way in the back next to a dumpster that was not appetizing. My girlfriend is in a wheelchair. The only two handicap spots up front were already taken. We go inside and speak to the hostess who informs us it will be about a 30 minute wait for a table and to give her my phone number and for us to wait in the parking lot until we're called ! WHAT ! It's 100 degrees outside and she's in a wheelchair ! NOT happening ! We stayed put. It's very crowded, I get it but it's scalding hot out. Sure enough about 20 minutes they have a table for us. But we had to follow the hostess outside thru the parking lot and in a back door. I thought we were in a speakeasy 🤣. We were seated and immediately waited on. Drinks arrived minutes later. Two in our party ordered the Lobster Feast. Two of us ordered a variety of individual seafood entrees and appitizers. The waitress was clearly told by one of my guest, NO BUTTER, ( she has an allergy ) her shrimp arrived with butter. I had to swap with her as my combo didn't have butter. As far as the "Feasts" The menus clearly states "TWO whole lobster" plus a variety of snow crab legs, clams and mussels. Each person only received ONE lobster. When I asked our waitress she replied that " yeah the menus is wrong, we need to change that because we now just give you one big one instead of two small ones" ??? For $66.95 per person Are you kidding me. Nowhere is SIZE mentioned nor was our ONE a big one. That's subject to interpretation and I don't know anyone who would call these big at all. The food was great. The service was great but for the $300 I spent on dinner for four I expected to get everything the menu said I would. This is clearly a management issue and unless they correct this and make it right, I won't be back nor can...
