Dominiks Pizza and Grill — Restaurant in Bushnell

My daughter and I just happened to have found this place and couldn’t have been more impressed. The employees we met and the diners around us were all happy to be there. The food was fantastic! We each had an appetizer, cheese logs with a delicious marinara and bronc buster poppers that were perfectly cooked and crispy. Our server was Caleb and he was attentive to our every need, so friendly and professional and we asked his name twice to be sure and request him as our server on future visits. Before we had even finished our meal, we were planning who to bring and show them this place. We split an entree of lasagna that was flavorful and cheesy and SO much better than the chain restaurant (O.G.) that our large family usually visits for family gatherings. The lasagna was accompanied by soft yeasty garlic knots that had to have been homemade.

I don’t write reviews because I’m never impressed. Now I can’t say that anymore! Dominik’s has impressed me and gained a loyal follower. See y’all soon!

Update: On our first visit everything was exceptional, and we returned last night to celebrate TWO birthdays in the family. I had asked at our first visit if they could accommodate a large party of 10-12 and was assured they would be happy to have us and would have no issues taking care of us. We were a party of 9, and it was made clear from the moment we entered that we were an absolute inconvenience. The wait was not too bad at 25 minutes. The food arrived for only 3 members of our party, along with the side bowls of marinara for other orders. Those 3 people were COMPLETELY finished eating before the other meals finally came trickling out. The marinara had long since gone cold, so the calzones were dry. Since they were mostly bread, that was a problem and no one felt comfortable asking for hot marinara. We had bbq pork nachos, as well as a bbq pork pizza and the meat had to be out of a can or bag, not even meat-textured, just sugary.

Other things that were a big turn off: over $7.00 credit card surcharge, and spending over $300 for a meal we couldn’t eat together OR enjoy. I feel like a fool for bragging on this place and dragging our family out there. But by far the worst part was the employees being so obviously inconvenienced by our presence. We tipped very well IN SPITE OF their poor attitudes. And the short, older lady at the counter who refused to acknowledge me when I was trying to ask for a copy of our receipt, and snapped at me (very snarky) that “she didn’t do that, everybody there had a job to do, go ask my server because she was takeout”. The food was acceptable for such a small establishment, I personally liked the spaghetti with garlic knots. I ordered a starter of garlic knots seeing as I did not realize they would come with my meal as well, the garlic knots starters was okay I can not say it was my favorite of garlic knots they were a bit hard and not very warm which wasn’t a pleasant tasting piece of bread. I will say I loved the spaghetti with marinara sauce, It was not too garlicky which I loved. I will say the restaurant really loves its garlic in everything because the person I went with got the spaghetti with meat sauce which had an extreme garlic taste almost overbearing so I can not say I recommend the meat sauce at all it is way to garlicky. I will also say the waiter we had was named David and he was quite nice and soft spoken, not too overbearing which I liked about him. The restaurant definitely I feel though needs at least three waiters seeing as I only saw two during my time there and they seemed to not pay attention much to the customers seeing as we tried to get the other waitresses attention and she almost acted as if she did not notice us which we clearly we signaling her so I did not particularly like that. But I will say overall Bushnell has needed a new place to sit down and eat at so I can not say that I fully do not like the place it is quite nice and a change of scenery from the typical places to eat in Bushnell like Sonny’s and Beef’s so I will say I will definitely be going back to see how my opinion changes over time but seeing as this is my first impression of the restaurant I will have to say I can’t give the place 5 stars seeing as there were small details I did not care for but overall I did enjoy myself in the restaurant and the food overall was good so I will definitely be coming back. If you are considering going try to ask the waiters how garlicky things are because it’s was definitely a overused item in there restaurant but I would say go try it give it your own opinion I shared mine only to make people aware of small details that might make their experience not as great. Me and my family decided to check the new restaurant out we were greeted. The server was in very much a hurry was talking so fast. You could hardly understand him. We ordered sweet tea. The first round was good. We got a refill. He brought us unsweet tea. We let him know that the tea was en suite, and he proceeded to tell us that he put sugar in the tea that he would bring us some more. He brought us more unsweet tea so finally we just gave up on trying to get some sweet tea we ordered our food. One order of the wings came out and they were so dry. My husband can barely eat them. We ordered a large pizza and a small pizza. The large pizza we were charged 350 per topping, even though there is a pizza on the menu that has those same toppings for $25. Our pizza was over 30 we were not told when we ordered the pizza that he was going to charge us 350 per topping the service was not great at all. The food was not that great either our bill came out to 140 something dollars I spoke with our server and asked him about the 350 per topping he said oh yes ma’am that’s how much we charge and I said I would’ve liked to have known that before, we ordered never acknowledge that we were unhappy customers our food all came out salads and wings. We had finished those our pizzas never came out. Had to ask for them.
