Having come from a long heritage of Butte coal mining family I had high hopes for a legit pasty. I will give very good reviews for r the crust, it was legit good and fresh! The filling was potatoes and cubed beef (roast). The beef was tender, but bordered in pate texture. The potatoes were almost mashed potatoes. I do think there is a lot of potential for upgrades— maybe some chopped onion, celery, carrot? My biggest issue was the level of salt in the pasty and then the gravy was pure salt. I would have liked to have a tomato soup option instead of just gravy. The side of coleslaw was about 2 bites — didn't seem to have any vinegar? I had excellent service and the price is great considering the serving size!

I'm from out of town, so I may not be the best judge of the taste of the food, plus this was my first pasty. I had a class over at MT and the instructor ordered the pasty meals for a noon lunch break. The food arrived at 1230 and was not even warm. The pasty itself was HUGE and would normally be two meals for me, but it was REALLY salty. A couple of other people in the class also commented on the saltiness... both the pasty and the brown gravy were too salty for me. The cole slaw was fine, though. If you like salty food, this may be perfect for you!

Best Pasties we've had in a loooooong time. The small cocktail size was perfect for me and my mom to share a dozen. My husband and son both got the big ones. All of us had some left over. The gravy is homemade and just as delicious. It is where Nancy's used to be. The new owner is so sweet. She gave us a cocktail one to try. We were hooked. Definately a place we will go back to when driving through Butte again. We sat in our lawn chairs on the grass in front to eat ours for lunch.

Very friendly staff and nice to see the hard work they have put into making the old shop shine inside. Had two full sized pasties and gravy, and was quite pleased they are carrying on Nancy's tradition of good, solid pound-and-a-half pasties, which is twice the size of most, but not twice the price. Crust was delicious. My only complaint was both the gravy and the pasty filling were a bit salty for my taste, so if you are sodium sensitive, maybe keep the gravy on the side. Edit...had another two tonight without gravy and they were not overly salty at all. They were delicious, so take my previous review with a grain of salt, as it might have been a...
