Mojitos Tacos Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Byram

The server was friendly, and that's honestly the only good thing I have to say. The hosts weren't very hospitable, the server was all over the place and was possibly the only one there waiting tables. I never got the water I asked for, even after 45 minutes. I ended up having to get my food to go because I was late for something else. And it could have been somewhat worth it if the food was good. Unfortunately it was not. I ordered enchiladas mexicanas and only got cheese sauce. If you're familiar with this dish you know what I mean. The tortillas were cracked and falling apart. The chicken was dry and bland in flavor. And the menu is incredibly small with very few traditional dishes. I planned on getting enchiladas rancheros but they surprisingly don't offer that, or most dishes I'm used to seeing. As someone who loves Mexican food I was very disappointed. I think a good menu change and increase in staff would help a lot but the low quality of food will probably not permit an increase in quality or staff because I don't see how they can even possibly break even on a weekly basis. Food was great, but I wanted my steak cooked more tender. 1 or 2 beverages were forgotten about, but they brought them out as soon as I reminded them. Overall, everything else was great!!! Certain dishes, two of my kids could eat from one plate so I took advantage of that, plus they have reasonable dishes that u can buy for two kids to split.

Update: This is maybe my 3rd or so visit around and I’m very disappointed!!! I ordered a happy plate and I noticed it wasn’t the same portion size as before, and not even the same size plate ! There was barely any melted cheese and bell peppers, so I had to ask for more. They gave a very small amount of steak, shrimp, and rice too compared to last time. To top the cake, I ordered a jumbo strawberry margarita and it was very watered down. It also didn’t appear to have any alcohol. I told them I was satisfied after I took only a few sips. This guy waiter and the taller manager told me they never had a complaint and that I would pay. I told them I wouldn’t pay for that drink, and I would o my pay for my food. My daughter and her friends frequently dines at this establishment. My daughter orders the same meal, but realized that the cost was $5 more than usual. Her meal was not the only one with inflated prices.The manager was questioned by the group, but was very dismissive and disrespectful to the ladies. My daughter called me.(I was in the parking lot). I walked in, greeted the young lady and the manager who actually served them. I questioned the manager about the pricing and he was obviously afraid of me and called the police. One officer didn’t arrive, but 3. The first officer asked to speak with me outside of the establishment. With conversation with him, the manager made it seem like the group didn’t pay for their meal. I walked in to get and understanding and he calls the police because I guess he thought I was going to be disruptive. We will no longer patronize this establishment again.
