Bar Down Grill — Restaurant in Byron Township

It was our first time ordering from here. I have never been so I came inside to pick up the food I ordered online. One of the waitresses directed me to a pickup window inside the first doors (they were closed, which felt wrong to open myself - but I did). I waited there for quite some time and tried to get the cooks attention, but the bell didn’t really work loud enough and the cooks were too far away to hear me. So I decided to go to the drive through window and was greeted immediately by one of the cooks. If I could offer some criticism it would be to maybe say “drive thru pick up” instead of just pick up on the online ordering website for newbies like me?

Also, my confirmation page and email said my order was ready now… like as soon as I got the confirmation. So I’m not sure if that was right or a misprint, but it was confusing since it said to arrive 25 minutes later also. If it’s an error, maybe replace that with the pick up instructions for customers. I’ll know what to do moving forward but it might make a difference to others.

The cook from the drive thru was very friendly and answered my questions with a smile! He turned around the experience for me feeling awkward from the inside window. As for the food, my husband loved his Buffalo Chicken Wrap and we both LOVED the fries! Delicious! My Alfredo seemed to be lacking sauce - I had to add some sauce at my house to bring it back to life. I look forward to trying the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich next time and my husband said he would order the BCW “Oven...

Ate there today, took about 3-4 minutes to be sat in an empty place, due to no one being on the floor. Was handed a menu about and the waitress left with out taking drink order. 3-4 minutes later she comes back to take my drink order and tries to walk away with out asking if I know what I want to eat... I had to stop her and say can you take my food order too? She looked confused but took it. About 20-25 minutes later my pasta finally came. This is when I realized the waitress never brought me silverware, she ran to the back so fast I couldnt catch her. So rather than waiting forever again I just went to the bar and got silverware. My waitress finally came back about 5 minutes later and asked if everything was ok and took my drink to fill it, something happened at the bar when she was trying to refill it and had to take my cup to the back to fill it... The Alfredo sauce looked like it came out of a powder packet it was very dry and lumpy, the flavor was ok though.... well when she brought my drink back I handed her my card because I couldnt be held up much longer as I was already over my lunch break time, I wasnt worried much about that because I can take up to an hour if needed, hence me never saying I need to be in and out quickly. Anyway my over all experience was bad, place looked old, sort of dirty, window tint was tear off the windows and things just looked dated. I will not be going back here for lunch again...

We wanted a quieter place to talk, and Russo's is a pretty good choice for that (on a week night, at least, I don't know about other times). They don't have loud music blaring, so we really appreciated that. They do have a couple large screen TVs on but the volume is at a reasonable level. The only time it got noisy is when the waitress started pulling all the chairs and tables around to sweep. Yes, they locked one door and started cleaning the floor an hour and a half before they closed. I get that if it's not busy or you know it's going to die down, you want to start getting things settled for the night, though. The food was good depending on what you got. Lasagna is a good choice. Their salads are good. Fettuccine Alfredo, yummy. Garlic bread, meh. LOL. Their appetizers are half off on Tuesdays so we got fried pickles. Those were really good!! They have root beer floats on the dessert menu but if you have one of their coupons "order two meals and two drinks, and the second meal is free", they'll let you use the root beer float as a drink rather than dessert. It was good. Prices for meals were around $12.99 and you got salad, bread, and a side with it, so you don't leave hungry! I have leftovers for lunch today too. I will go back. I remember getting subs there once years ago and they were so yummy. I saw them on the menu last night so I definitely will be back...
