This was the closest restaurant to our location and decided to give this place a shot. Located in a former service station (an old gas pump is still visible) that is more worse for wear with chipping paint and tight, limited parking. The interior is relatively small with approximately 8 tables for dine in. Nothing fancy, but it was clean. Set-up more for takeout than dine in. You order at the counter and your food is brought to you. A lady who I believe was the owner was all smiles, nice, and friendly. Our waitress looked half scared to death, but was efficient. The younger guy who took our order stood out like a sore thumb with his "I don't want to be here attitude". He was passive aggressive, snarky, and the exact opposite of the presumed owner. So glad we didn't have to interact with him beyond ordering. Dude, if you don't like your job or don't want to be there, then for the sake of all humanity DO ANYTHING ELSE! Food arrived promptly, temperature hot, and flavorful. We ordered the combination fried rice, an order of crab rangoon, and 2 orders of sesame chicken. My husband said his combination fried rice ranked in his top 3. My sesame chicken was crispy and delicious. Limited vegetarian options (2 on the menu), but in small towns this isn't too uncommon. Slightly pricey, but with food prices the way they are it's to be expected. Pros: Food Cons: Parking and service Overall,...
Read moreThe service was good, no complaints there. But after reading all these RAVING reviews I was expecting a FANTASTIC meal and was very underwhelmed and unimpressed once we got there. The food is bland and several of the chicken dishes all just tasted the same with no real differentiation between flavors which was boring. The rice was plain and bland. In reality this place is no different that China Grove or Oriental Hut in Mountain Grove but Mary's is SIGNIFICANTLY pricier than any asian restaurant I've eaten at in a while and that includes Springfield prices. Overall, I'm not sure if the folks leaving raving reviews are friends of the owner or just don't know good food when they see it but we were all sorely disappointed in the food especially for the price being charged. It's okay and it's something different for the little town of Cabool but by no means is it anywhere near the 'best asian food in Southern Missouri' as one reviewer put. Houston's Panda House has SIGNIFICANTLY better food for less money and it's only 20 minutes Northeast of Cabool. That's...
Read moreThey are over priced for there food!!! I like the food but when i think fried rice I think peas, scrambled egg, carrots fried rice no nothing but just rice!!! I order combination no shrimp and I would of never of spent that price on it If I'd known how small of the amount of chicken and beef was in the rice!! Also I had to season it when I got home cause there wasn't any taste! Ordered 2 egg rolls was expecting you know 2 egg rolls but there 2 Is half of everywhere else's 1 and it costs more! And for the crab Rangoon they were ok I mean I don't care for the sweet crab Rangoon but if u like the sweet ones they tasted the same as everywhere else's that does the sweet crab Rangoon!! They were nice just being honest in my opinion if I'm gonna spend that much on asian/Chinese food it'll be somewhere else most likely oriental hut or China grove!! Kids seemed to like there cashew chicken! And husband said beef and brocolli was ok he has had better that...
