Three of us got off work and walked in at 11:57pm along with a mother and her children. It took until after midnight for an employee to acknowledge any of us. When the dude running the register finally came up, he told us that he couldn’t serve us because the lobby closed at 12. We were polite and argued our case that we’d been there since before midnight and he agreed to take our order. We let the woman order first and she did. After she finished her order, we approached the counter and were immediately greeted by a manager who informed us that she was the last order and that we would have to drive thru to order. We let him know that we had arrived when the lobby was still open and that we had let the woman and her children order first. Also, that we couldn’t use the drive thru since we were in a box truck. He gave us a canned apology and said that he would do us a favor and allow us to order at the counter, but that we would have to walk around through the drive thru to pick it up. I asked him why that was the only solution. He responded by telling us that was just the way it was, corporate rules and all that. Then, he changes his mind and says I have to download the Taco Bell app and then order, then walk through the drive thru. The what? Nah, just let us order our food man. His ultimate reasoning was that he couldn’t serve us in the lobby because Taco Bell won’t let him. And he wasn’t budging. Apparently, it was a safety issue.
So, just so you know, if you are in the lobby of this Taco Bell, but haven’t ordered your food yet (and even though you were thoughtful enough to allow a mother and her children to order ahead of you)...you have magically transformed from a welcomed guest into a safety risk that their manager just can’t take...
Read moreI stayed at a hotel nearby. Because I'm a truck driver I walked over to the taco bell. I was told by a taco bell employee to walk over to the drive thru window to order.
Once at the drive thru window they told me I had to drive my vehicle over to order. I informed them that I was a truck driver and that my truck wont fit. They said since it was after 8 PM and that I could not order. Current time was 8:10 pm.
I was disappointed and informed them that I ordered from them all the time before the coronavirus started. They said that I still couldn't place an order. I informed them that I would just do business elsewhere from now on. They said that would be fine.
The Subway a couple blocks away made me an excellent sub and I got a great sweet tea from the McDonalds. They are both Trucker friendly and also thanked me for being a truck driver. They were both happy that they also get their products by truck.
It is truly sad that this long after the beginning of the epidemic that there are still some restaurants like this Taco Bell who do not care about care about the truck drivers who deliver their products.
I would like to point out that I eat at Taco Bells in other states and other cities within Arkansas and they have all allowed me to place an order with them anytime that...
Read moreCame to the drive thru and was greeted by an employee that stated "Due to being under staffed, please feel free to come inside to place your order". As I started to pull up I made a comment to my passenger, at that point the voice comes back over the speaker and say "DON'T BOTHER COMING IN CUASE I AIN'T BE TAKING YOUR ORDER!" I pulled around and entered the store where there were approximately 7 customers standing waiting for service. I requested the name of the woman working the drive thru and the name of the manager at which point an employee, I believe her name to be "------" came from the back an ask "Is you the one that was at the drive thru?" I ask her what her problem was at that point she said "Yeah it was you, you're welcome to get the hell out of here!" I then stated that I wanted the number to the corporate office and reached to retrieve something to write on. as I reached towards the counter ------ swung to slap my hand, missing my hand connected with the cups almost knocking them off the counter, then threatened to call the police. I WILL NOT BE BACK AND STRONGLY URGE ANYBODY ELSE TO TOTALLY AVOID THIS...
