I really liked this place a while back! But I've been there a couple of times in the past months and honestly everything there has changed! The staff is not friendly and welcoming! The waitress sat us at a table that still needed to be cleaned. I had to ask her for her damp cloth to actually finish cleaning the thae and chairs. When we order a drink, she took over 15 minutes to bring my drink, the restaurant was busy but not as busy for her to bring the drink sooner, instead she proceeded to clean the rest of the tables and ignore the fact that she forgot our drink. The food was super grissy and with no flavor. The portions are not what they use to be when they first open. I asked for an alambre with 2 eggs on top " this where extra, not in the menu, when whe brought my plate and checked under my eggs, there was absolutely no meet from the alambre at all! All just green raw peppers! Way too over priced as well. I will not be going back. They lost a really good client with me and my family. We use to go there almost every weekend. Until there service and food weren't worth...

We drove over from Star just to have lunch here. We're recent Southern CA transplants and we can appreciate good Mexican food. In addition, my wife is of Mexican heritage and she knows authentic when she sees and tastes it.
We came on a Sunday morning about 11:15. The place was packed, and the patrons looked to be native Hispanics, so we were very hopeful. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. It is your basic cafe ambiance, plain tables and booths, with a counter at the far end.
Two parties came in after us, and we were dismayed to see that their orders were taken before ours. We waited a while, then my wife had to flag down our female server. My wife ordered the chilaquiles with shredded chicken and I ordered a shrimp burrito. We waited way too long for our food, so much so that when it arrived our server apologized for the wait. The food was good, but not great.
We are still on the look out for that outstanding Mexican restaurant. The search...
Read moreWow! Just Wow! My wife and I are (originally) from Phoenix, AZ. I grew up going to Mexico almost every weekend during the summer. Also grew up eating great Mexican cuisine all over the southwest. When I moved to Idaho in the early 70’s one of the things I missed was the availability of great authentic Mexican food. Was in Caldwell recently and gave Mi Pueblito a try. I’m so glad that I did. From the very first taste of their home-made salsa to the Tamale, and street tacos it was like a visit to the old days. This will for sure be one of my frequently visited restaurants for great Mexican food. The visit was made complete by the fast and friendly service of the staff. I’m so very thrilled to have found this wonderful place. I’m sure you will be as well....
