I will begin by saying the restaurant and bathroom are clean. Silverware, when it is finally given to you, is clean.
Now, I will start off with, I have never visited a resturaunt were they do not serve fountain drinks??? BUT judging by the resturaunt staff, I can see WHY they do not offer fountain drinks, it would require coming back and catering to a table multiple times per visit, and they do not even pretend to like taking your orders or waiting on the table, the 1st and last time they come to your table? Both visits, They did not ask what we want to drink. Just took our food order and walked away. If it had not been for another couple eating, we would not have known we needed to get up and help ourselves to the not too cold refrigerator of various drinks: canned soda, coconut water, bottled soda and Jumix- juices.. The service is rated 1-star and that is being generous. Im not sure if they come to work angry or if they genuinely do not like the line of work they are in? BUT the staff has been agitated or upset that we are there to eat on both occassions.. Our food came hot and looked good to be honest, the cook, can COOK!! Good priving and great variety (mexican dishes) Other than not recieving my fork and flour tortillas (I had to go in and visit the cook to request my fork and flour tortillas becuas the server(s) never came back) all in all the food is good. Customer service needs a TON of help.
We sat down at 8pm.. server IMMIDIETLY barks, we close at 850, understand.
We nodded as we stared at the font of the menu that says open till 9pm!? What? Also, when i looked up the resturaunt on Google maps, it clear as day said open until 9pm!!?!!
They had wrestling on the 1-tv.. resturaunt was comfy temperture.. Mojave tends to cool down in the evenings...
Not sure we will be back unfortunately.. we visit this area 4 times a year atta week at a time...
Read moreWe were the only people in the place. I sat down and was immediately shocked at the high prices. I'd expect to pay these prices at a fancy Mexican restaurant like Uncle Julio's, but not a hole in the wall diner in the middle of nowhere with old, dilapidated dining room tables and decor. Our server was friendly, and nice. She first brought out chips and salsa. The chips were pretty stale but the salsa was great. I didn't realize we'd be charged for them - we ordered a second set for the salsa. Both our orders turned out to be great. Mine was really spicy, which is what I wanted, so I ended up drinking about three beers as we were staying in a hotel just down the street. My girlfriend had a Mexican coke. The total for two plates, two chips and salsas, three beers and a Mexican coke came to $62. When it came time to pay, our server said the credit card machine was not working and that I had to pay cash. I didn't have any cash on me so she suggested the gas station ATM next door. It was 43 degrees and windy out, so I walked next door and the ATM wouldn't work. I went back to the diner to tell my girlfriend I needed to find another ATM, so this time I got in my car, left there and went to two other gas stations before I finally found an ATM to get cash. Went back and said let's settle up. That's when I found out our total was $62. I was so irritated at this point that I'd been really been put out, not just by them demanding I pay cash, but that it took an additional 15 minutes to get cash at all, and away from the place I was just relaxing and having an early dinner. I just told her to keep the change. $18...
Read moreI went there twice cause the food is good and the service from the 2 younger waitresses is ok. But if you happen to get the owner witch i think is the owner of that place (blonde dyed hair) You can get a bad attitude and have a bad experience just like she gave to my parents when they went there. They got 2 borritos of shredded meat $8.75 each & 1 horchata $2.00 and she should of just paid less or about $23. They chraged her $31 When i took my family to eat there it should of being less than $100 cause of what we order but i ended up paying almost $130 The prices are just like any other restaurant but they should charge the correct price and not add charges. They don't give you the check just like any other restaurant. You have go and pay at the cashier. And the reason that I've noticed that they do is because they over charge you in what ever you consume. You will never see a receipt, even when you pay. Consumer affairs should know about this if any other person have...
