101 Wine Press was our local Friday night for a drink spot, but after hearing their recent videos disrespecting taco trucks and spreading ugly, false stereotypes about Mexican food. I’m never supporting them again. Not only were the tacos we’ve tried there some of the worst we’ve ever had (cold and bland) but their attitude toward the hardworking people who actually make REAL tacos is shameful. We support small, authentic taco vendors who take pride in their food and culture, not businesses that tear others down with ignorance and disrespect. Saying they use cat and rat meat at taco trucks and that’s why they’re cheap is not only disrespectful but it’s ignorant being that they’re trying to profit off that very culture they’re speaking down on. At 101 Wine Press, ironically, you can get a gentrified version of a taco for $8 a piece made with factory-made, pre-packaged tortillas. They brag about using ā€œpremiumā€ Tri-tip and call it authentic, but anyone who actually knows Mexican food knows that in Mexico, not only are tortillas handmade, but no one makes Tri-tip tacos!

A friend of mine took me there to celebrate my šŸŽ‚ & to see our favorite singer šŸŽ¤ Kaye Boler & her band šŸŽ¶ perform. Upon sitting up at the bar next to the door, we both noticed right away that service was going to be an issue. We placed an order for water to start & never got it. We asked another server who also took our water order....Then Nic the bartender came over to discuss food... then water arrivedšŸ’§ Anyhow the food was decent (tri-tip 🌮) nice portions. I also enjoyed their wine-garetia w/xtra shot of guave tequilawine.šŸ¹ But the BEST thing of the night was Kaye & her band šŸŽ¶šŸŽ¤šŸŽøšŸ„šŸŽµTheir vibe is just too big for this place. The band would be rocking, playing & singing & the locals would have NO reaction or show of appreciation. I was baffled considering Kaye & husband (harmonica player) are local prunedale natives. Anyhow, we enjoyed the show, but the service in this place lacked attention to those who sit at the far end of the bar or on the patio outside. šŸ˜”

I visited 101 Wine Press to catch the Garcia vs. Davis fight, and it's safe to say I left with quite a bit of disappointment. The most significant letdown was the food. Both the tri-tip and the link were astonishingly dry, and no amount of BBQ sauce could salvage the lack of flavor. To make matters worse, the food arrived cold, and the garlic bread was strangely soft, as if it had been sitting for ages. While the interior of the restaurant is pleasant, the service was far from the best. My friend had raved about this place, but my experience left much to be desired. Overall, I had high hopes for 101 Wine Press, but it failed to deliver, leaving me with a disappointing memory of what was supposed to be an exciting night out.

Went with my friends last night. We decided to order the tri tip family meal which clearly states on menu comes with 4 sides & bread. The waitress showed us the list of side we could choose. We choose two salads, mac n cheese, & pasta salad. My friends ordered a beer each while we waited. The food came out fairly quick & everything was really good except my friends were still waiting on their beers. When we got the bill we noticed that it was higher than what was priced on the menu by $4. When we inquired was told salad sides were $1 extra each & the other sides were like .50c each. We’re like so what sides were we supposed to choose from that was ā€œincluded with mealā€ told that was them but was extra also. Like what?? Owner said was stated on menu at bottom somewhere but none of us saw it. The waitress said she’d bring over the menu to show us. We waited another 10min but she never came back with the menu. It wasn’t like they were busy we were only other group there at the time. So we just paid & left. Also those beers that were ordered didn’t show up till the end of the meal. So we told them it too late for those & sent them back. I went on there site today to look at the menu they have online which is older & no where on there does it state extra charges for salad sides or any sides. We paid cash too so there wasn’t a fee for using credit. Be wary.. I’m seeing posts about a lot of establishments that are sneaking in ā€œfake feesā€ so the server can collect bigger tips. I’m not sure this is the case because we never saw the menu again to be shown the disclaimer. When you see the word INCLUDED though on a meal description that means that’s the price it’ll be. Not sure I’ll be going back...

I'm glad this business is here. The BBQ tri-tip plate I ordered was very good (and a good value). However, the service was pretty horrible. We were in for an early dinner and the place was empty save for a couple people at the bar. It took a solid 5 minutes for someone to bring us a menu (there were 3 people who worked there) and the waitress literally looked and acted annoyed that we were there which made us feel super awkward. It took so long to get any service or acknowledgment at all that we were about to walk out. Also, the wine is overpriced for the quality... It is super, um, "local" tasting. Some wine around this area has what I describe as "Mission" flavor. It's like the smell of the grounds and Mission in San Juan Bautista, and like musty decaying manzanita & oak, decomposing. It's a very distinct and often overpowering flavor and their Pinots definitely had it going on. I think it's fine, not good, but distinct, and definitely local. It was, however, overpriced/glass. Maybe offer a tasting flight too, but definitely watch what is reasonable to charge. Anyway, I thought the BBQ was good and price point right on, just hire a professional staff and work on the wine menu and it should do very well here. It's a phenomenal location for a...

I put one star because there is not a zero-star option. As a prunedale native I am extremely disappointed in my experience here. We picked this spot because it was close to home and wanted to celebrate my brothers birthday. I called and made a reservation. No one greets you when you walk in, you kinda just have to flag someone down for help. Ordered drinks and appetizer while awaiting for everyone to arrive. Once everyone arrived we ordered food. Waited 30 mins before we flagged down someone to order a drink and then inquire about how much longer for our food and the response was ā€œhopefully it will be soonā€. Waited another 20 minutes before we were able to ask our waitress again about our food. Mind you parties with 2-3 people had already gotten their food and left. 5 mins later waitress comes out and says most of our sides we ordered are out. Horrible service and then they had the audacity to add the gratuity on the tip. Food was luke-warm and mediocre. If you want to come to watch a sports game and grab a couple drinks this is the perfect place, but I don’t recommend coming here for any type of lunch or dinner. Most of the staff also seemed under...
